This thread is for anyone who have/will/thinking about applying to Washu for the 09 Fall admission

they said my app was complete and should expect the decision in 30 days
=.= ... the rejection letter is on its wayyyy

So you can get accepted before the deadline is even up?

How does the WashU admissions process work? Do they just evaluate each application individually without regard to the applicant pool, or are there a set number of spots meaning the earlier you apply the better the chances??

yes, it's on a rolling basis and WashU reviews your app individually. "The earlier you apply, the better chance you stand." ---> not so sure

ANXIOUSLY awaiting my decision. My app was complete on 3-11. Anyone get a decision yet? I heard of a couple people who applied pretty early and got their decisions.

They're pretty fast with decisions; I had mine in less than 2 weeks last year.

I got a course catalog from WashU today...does this mean anything?

no. I got it even before I submit my application.... But it makes me love WashU!

Just got in washu this week.
GPA: 4.0 till i die
Major: Econ (Junior Transfer)
Feeling: f**king dope!

haha. I got accepted into Wash U this week too. Electric and computer engineering…waiting to hear back from some other places tho…this dam transfer process is frustrating… oh btw, it takes more than 30 days to find out about your decisions…so you guys should chill out and have faith

i am still waiting for some others too. I got mine within 30 days, way faster than others.
Hi, Nooobie, do u have financial aid or scholarship? $57,064 is hella expensive, i don’t know if i’ll go. :(

how did you guys find out?online?

gogo, i know! Wash U is notorious for its poor Financial aid…so yeah…idk…unless i get rejected by other schools that are better than Wash u, i wouldn’t really wanna pay that much money to go there…
Shuang, i got my acceptance package through USPS priority mail, not online

My acceptance was posted online and I received it through USPS a few days later. I’m a sophomore transfer (econ).

My decision took exactly 3 weeks from the time my file was completed.

my decesion took nearly 1 and a half months…the wait was frustrating but worth it…major in mech engg … anxiously waiting for financial aid decesion…

I have one more question to u all…does WashU provide the financial assistance that we request in the financial aid form or is way lesser than that…i usually hear its way lesser but it doesnt make any sense…I hv heard that universities like WashU doesnt accept students unless they meet the financial requirements of the students…is this true or what? if its not then why accept students whom the university knows can’t pay so much fees???

and what is the acceptance rate for transfer students usually in WashU?

Please do reply

That’s reassuring that is takes more than 1 month for engineering school to reply. I am eagerly waiting for my BME decision from WashU. I also applied for financial aid.

Hey guys, I’m a first-time poster here but I’ve been reading the forum for months now.

I’m currently a freshman at Notre Dame applying for fall transfer admission, and my app for WashU Arts and Sciences was complete on 3/24. I was expecting my decision this past week but heard nothing, so I called my app processor and she told me that the committee hadn’t quite made a decision and I should hopefully know in the next few days. Yesterday, however, I received a call from home saying I got a letter from WashU stating that they unfortunately couldn’t make a decision at this time because they need to review my final transcript for 2nd semester. This notification wasn’t posted on my online status page, and the lady on the phone said nothing about it (considering the letter was mailed BEFORE i spoke with her). So is this like an unofficial wait-list? Do they just wanna be sure I don’t screw up my GPA this semester before making a final decision? Has this happened to anyone else before? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

congrats to those who got in. and hopefully i would get the fat envelop sooooooonnnnnnnnn.

WashU here I come! After almost two months of waiting, i am finally admitted. I can’t wait to go there in the Fall.
