Official Wednesday PSAT Discussion

how long does it take to study for the SAT, under normal circumstances? i think i might have to quit some stuff to make for time and classes...sigh

All i know is that i'll be ready by March.

Two General Qs: 1) Elaborate plz on the 120 answer one...

and 2) Based upon your perception and reason, do you people figure that this PSAT was generally harder than the practise bulletin one? I believe so, and that the curve shall be better, hopefully eliciting better resuts. =D

Does anyone remember the vocab one about the dancers...with the solo making people think and then the loud ensemble performances? What was the answer to that one?

For teh 120, All I remember was that I did something along the lines of 1000 -9880. I do not recall how I got those answer.

Can someonle state the other grid in answers. So far, I think they are

1/45
4.6
120
17
I do not remember the other three or so.

do they come up with the raw score conversions after the test is taken?

Does anyone remember the one in the psychic one about the feelings that the word "curious" evoked? was the answer "sarcastic disbelief"? i know this wouldn't normally be a good answer for an author's attitude but it seems like the only one that makes sense...

contemplative....[ x ]

that one, because it was the only thing with the corresponding word charges

1000-9880. Soundes so familiar...give me more! :) i think i got that but not so sure. Gasp the suspence is killing me. I hated the psi thing. I yelled at my AP Psych teacher today! LOL. What was that "medium" question...that completely mind*****ed me.

I think I put "sarcastic disbelief" for that one, dolce

3000-2880 = 120
it had to do with millileters and liters

yes, it was sarcastic disbelief

for curious, i think it had something to do with suspicious, but i forgot the word they used

20 had to do with a possible solution for the perimeter of a rectangle of area 24

Sweet I got that! :) Thanks!

someone make a list of all the verbal answers!!!!

That is correct. 1 liter = 1000 ml. Thus 3L = 3000ml. The teacher gave some number of mililiters to some number of students. Subtract the number of total ml given away by the total ml present and you have the remainder, 120, which is what the question was asking for.

yea 20 = i just used 6 x 4, so 2(6+4)

I suppose that 8 * 3 also could have worked though I did use 6 * 4 getting an answer of 20.

On the chicago to New York one or whatever, what did the description of the guy's clothes tell about his personality?

Was the marble question a grid-in?

I said habitual something...just because none of the others seemed to work

Are we allowed to keep our test booklets?

Because our school let us keeep the test booklets, but the way you guys are talking hints that you guys dont have the questions with you.
