Making Rice Krispies treats with one of my friends and watching the SYTYCD finale. I’ll pause to check my decision, though, of course! XD

I have to play at a school winter recital and won’t be home until 10ish =( I am going to like major epic fail my concerto cause I’ll be thinking the whole time about what’s at home awaiting on my computer…

I live in Shanghai, so it’s 10 AM of the 17th for me. I will be finishing my last final exam for the semester (APES), and will check with a friend or two on our school’s computers at around 10:30 or so (the exam ends at 10:25, but then collecting papers and stuff takes a lot of time).

116…

Working on my AP Biology class on FLVS, I expect. xD That’ll make it more convenient to check… with my whole family looking over my shoulder… >.<

it’ll be 7pm my time. I’ll probably have just gotten home from lab work, and I’ll sit in front of my computer playing on farmville until 6:30. Then, I’ll probably get on these forums and freak out until 7:58 when i start refreshing continuously.

I gave up on waiting for the tube. If they send it out a while after they release decisions, I don’t want to wait that long.

That, and the night before, I’ll probably eat about 5 cartons of ice cream from nervousness… or I’ll jog. Who knows?

Mmmmm eating five cartons of ice cream sounds fun. Hahah, I’ll totally do that too :)

I’ll probably have to take a run too… so anxious!

but since you already have a valid ED acceptance from Penn, you should have already withdrawn you MIT app. Not doing so is unethical

Woaah. If you applied ED to a school, can you apply EA to another school? Isn’t that against the ED rules?

You can apply EA (so long as it isn’t binding EA) to other schools; you can’t apply ED to more than one school. Typically you need to withdraw other apps when offered admission to your ED school…but there has been some debate on that…when to withdraw them, and what constitutes not receiving adequate financial aide from the ED school so that you could decline their offer.

Correct me if i’m wrong but MIT asks that you not apply to any schools ED if you apply EA… this seems shady

^ To my knowledge, you may apply EA to as many schools as you like and ED to one school. MIT is not a single-choice EA school (unlike Stanford - in which case, applying EA/ED anywhere else is against the rules and can result in withdrawing acceptances from all universities involved).

You don’t have to withdraw apps to other colleges if your ED college hasn’t shown you what your financial aid packet looks like or if they have and it simply isn’t enough. At least that was my understanding of the whole thing. And (like others said) you can apply EA to several schools, it’s only wrong if you apply ED to more than one school.

Sitting outside the door of the admissions office :D

In my role model’s (MIT graduate teacher’s) classroom :)

I’ll be on a 6-way call with 6 other applicants. Waiting for our decisions. Crying and screaming. Screaming and crying. :-)

I will be studying for my finals on Thursday. I didnt apply to MIT, Im a soph. in HS lol

lulz @ClearVision

no but i’m saying i know that EA schools are alright with you applying anywhere else EA or RD but i’m pretty sure they ask you not to apply anywhere ED

I understand what you’re saying, and I’m still saying you’re wrong :)

With ED, you’re promising the school something. Applying to more than one place ED is not allowed. But wanting to hear from other schools early is not breaking this promise, so you can apply non-binding EA. (Again, though, if you’re applying SCEA, you are promising to not apply anywhere else EA or presumably ED.)
