i read on the williams website that the average SAT score for accepted ED applicants was only a 1430. do you think that the average for RD will be higher or lower? thanks!!</p>

I think it's sort of fun to look back, too. I was really nervous for my daughter -- she had wanted this so much and for so long and, even though there are lots of wonderful schools out there, Williams is the only one that has a certain set of characteristics that is centrally important to her. Going anywhere else would have have meant a tremendously different college experience to her as she would have either dropped something that has been really important to her or ratcheted it up a great deal (depending on where she landed), and she might also have started on "trade school" in her probable profession in college, rather than waiting until graduate school, which would have meant giving up her dream of getting a really broad, solid foundation before specializing. </p>
<p>There's a lot riding on the contents of that one letter for everyone. You honored that by being nervous about it. I hope reading our anxious posts will be helpful to some of those who are waiting.</p>
<p>The waiting is really hard and makes you crazy, but it does work out. And it feels so good when you can see where you're going next.</p>
