***Official Williams Class 2016 ED Results Thread.

EmpathSilvio obviously just had a really strong application. How many college applicants have a two book publishing deal?

@bamboleo, @noisyimpatntspdr and @williamskid thanks for the support. I see the Williams camaraderie is already in working!
As for the girl, I get her. It’s tough getting rejected. She needs to vent. I will let her have her kanye moment. I got the award :)

*is already working. sorry :p

there’s probably something to what wtcgshep was saying, i don’t think she’s totally out of line. we all know that diversity and geography play a role in college admissions. and after reading her post, i don’t find anything specific about why she thinks empath got in.

and empathsilvio - i think, as a successful applicant, you have an obligation to be humble and considerate. your last post came across as rude and pretentious, to me, even though I assume you meant to be funny. please remember - you now represent Williams.

I didn’t mean to be pretentious or rude. But I don’t enjoy my efforts being belittled. I am inclined to believe that I didn’t only tick the ‘diversity’ box, as I am sure that if it was only for that, I’d be on my way to routine by now. I was rejected last year too and RD, which makes it worse, and I vented, but not on someone else’s expense.

I think wtcgshep was referencing empathsilvio’s scores and unfortunately that came across as her saying empathsilvio was admitted as a diversity case. The reality is white female applicants from NJ are overrepresented. No doubt some were admitted but it’s a deep pile of apps and they have their pick of very well-qualified applicants. That does not have anything to do with Empathsilvio of course. They are building a class and he or she won a golden ticket in another competitive demographic, internationals. This was never a decision between the two of them.

First, empathsilvio is from Albania, and has probably been through completely different things than us in the states. Second, his SAT is ok considering he is probably not a native english language speaker while wtcgsheep is.
