wait so there’s a peer rec? when the hell did that happen? I just logged in to check my application status and it said it was missing. Its optional I guess and I’m trying to get someone to do it last minute. Did you guys know about this?

Thank goodness I saw your post!

There’s no deadline for the form, actually, so you don’t have to rush to get it in, so don’t worry.

I don’t think that you have to sweat the optional peer rec. My daughter was admitted early without submitting one (and with a 299 word supplemental essay).

Columbia - what were your daughter’s stats?

I was wondering if the peer rec was all that necessary too.

Stupefy;

I just read your post regarding location…

Since you have an interest in business, and you had to chose between NYU Stern and Williams…NYU would be a better school for that. Considering the location, you’d have way more opportunities to have internships and all that jazz. Furthermore, NYU Stern is a stronger business program. If you’re applying to jobs with NYU Stern on your resume, you WILL get places.

My friend got into NYU Stern and she loves it. Granted, they party hard considering that it’s smack in the middle of a city. Also, there’s always something to do in NYC (trust me, I know. Haha).

GOOD LUCK!

^Thanks! I actually applied to BPE so I’d be traveling alot! well I won’t have to decide until april so yeah. my top choice is yale, but that dream seems impossible now :/

same. I decided not to do it because all of my close friends are doing their apps around this time and I wouldn’t ask them to waste their time on mine. I hope they don’t see it as a bad thing that I didn’t submit one

How do I do this for a college that does not have the mail check option

For Williams you can submit a fee waiver or pay by credit card.

I wasn’t paying attention to if it was possible to mail a check…

Just pay by credit card.

I paid by credit card two days ago but it still hasnt shown up as paid. And I cannot submit my application until it does. What do I do?

Ouch. That’s cutting it pretty close to the wire.

My advice: Call Williams’ Admissions Office. From what it seems, Williams is very tight on instructions and whatnot.

Good luck!

Hey all! Sooooo…I’ve been trying to figure out how to check the status of my recs, transcripts, test scores, etc., but can’t figure out how. Submitted my app about 3 wks ago, but I haven’t gotten any emails with logon info. Did you guys get one? Or did you go somewhere to create an account?

Thanks!

^I submitted mine on the 26th, and I got my application status login two days later

you should’ve gotten an email linking you to this site:
https://myapplication.williams.edu/psp/csprd/?cmd=login

Thanks! I haven’t had real consistent internet access, so maybe I missed it or it got caught in my spam filter…or accidentally deleted. (Oops!)

Williams placement in the financial industry is legendary. I wouldn’t rank it behind Stern. It is in a slightly different industry-- hedge funds and banking more than business.

i got an email from Williams in order to sign on to my Williams portal. I tried entering my ID in the Forgot Password area and it isn’t working? Any body else have trouble?

^I am having the same problem. It keeps saying “Please contact the security administrator.”

I can’t believe I didn’t make sure about this before, but if my SAT scores are postmarked a little bit after Jan. 1, will they accept them? I assumed they would, but then Dartmouth said they require SAT scores be postmarked Jan. 1. I couldn’t find anything on the Williams Web site that addressed this concern. Please help. I’m freaking out.

I dont know about SATS, but i accidentally forgot to include my common AP teacher Rec forms with my teacher recs and so i postmarked those 4 or 5 days after the ED deadline, and I also emailed the admissions office apologizing and they were fine with it. Since they already have a record of your SAT scores on your common app the official report is really just to make sure you’re not lying, it’s only proof if you will.

I think you should be fine but you should email the admissions office to give them a heads up about your oversight.

Thank you, CrossCountry. :)

Also, for others like Courteau out there that are freaking out, they e-mailed me saying they would accept January tests if I rush report them so I guess they don’t mind couple of days late. The weird thing is, collegeboard tells me that if I designate the recipient for my January test scores before it comes out, it’s sent out as “rush report” (and they send it out the day before it’s posted online) which is weird seeing I don’t really get why the officer told me to rush report it if I CANT rush report a score that hasn’t come out yet.

This confused me so much :(
