I think we should wait for 4-5 more days, realistically speaking. 2 years back, 15 offers were extended on May 9. They seem to be offered on Wed-Thu, usually.
@asliwelhamite The figure (actually last year’s) is from CollegeBoard (@https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/college-university-search/williams-college, click on “applying”).
This is weird. Collegeboard data not in sync with what the letter said. Don’t know what to believe now.
If we are expected to wait for 4-5 more days, why they said “later this week”? I can’t wait for more.
15 offers on May 05, 2016. See here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/19643192/#Comment_19643192
They won’t reply to my emails enquiring about the current status. Sucks mate.
USNEWS said “there’s a fine line between admirable persistence and stalking”. It really sucks.
I think it’s safe to assume that none of us were in the first 15. Let’s see what happens next.
On the contrary, if you read carefully last year’s waitlist thread, you’ll be as optimistic as me. We are doomed to be classmates at Williams (if you are persistent as me).
Hahaha what makes you say so?
As far as I know, the office is probably closed on Saturdays. So we can expect to hear from them only after the weekend, I guess.
It’s possible people got off the waitlist around May 4th if you check out posts from last year. I know a student got off the waitlist for Barnard, but when my friend called, they said they were still in a holding pattern and did not mention those who got off the waitlist already. When I called Williams, twice, the first time the woman was nicer and simply said they were in a holding pattern. The second woman was a tad bit terse and said the same thing, adding that it may take quite some time (perhaps until June). Honestly, they are just keeping us on our toes; guess we need to stay as busy as possible to avoid the mental torment!
from what i believe, a holding pattern means that a decision hasnt been made at all yet. i havent heard of anyone getting off of the waitlist so far
Yeah. However, last year someone claimed to have gotten in and when other students called to follow up, they were informed the college was in a holding pattern (despite the fact that there was a student who received admission). I suppose we cannot know for sure, but I’ll have my eyes glued to this thread for any updates…haha.
Even I haven’t heard of any offers yet. The thing is, I don’t know any other Indian who was waitlisted so I have no clue about what’s happening. I just wanna get in so bad
Anyone heard anything new, guys?
I’m indian as well, and haven’t heard of any offers either. Weren’t we supposed to hear back last week…? but i don’t know of anyone who’s heard back yet
@ivyisaplant are you an aid applicant? As far as I know, 3 Indians were offered a place in RD. One of them was an aid applicant who got a full ride and decided to enrol. The other two were non-aid applicants and have left Williams for Columbia and UC Berkeley.
If you’re a non-aid applicant I’d say the chances are good since two of them left their spots.
For some reason this year’s waitlist thread is awfully limited and quiet. That increases the possibility of stuff happening without us knowing about it.
@asliwelhamite no, I’m not an aid applicant. really?? ah gives me a little hope did you send them additional materials? I’m worried because I didn’t send them much
