<p>I don’t think you all realize how good Netherlands is. They JUST won btw against Slovakia and will face the winner of Brazil-Chile (most likely Brazil). Look at the world class players in the Netherlands team. They have Robben, Van Persie, Sneijder, Van Der Vaart, Van Bommel, Kuyt etc. All of these players are stars in their own right. They are EXTREMELY stacked. They have won ALL of their games (Brazil has NOT) without trying that much. One commentator noted that Netherlands has not come out of “1st gear”. I think that in terms of pure talent, Netherlands are tied with Brazil and Argentina. Admittedly, in the past, Netherlands have been chokers… they have always underacheived… BUT they, unlike in the last world cup, just made it past the round of 16. They are off to the quarter finals. Look, Brazil is great… we all know that… but you are all underestimating the Netherlands… if they beat Brazil (I think the Dutch have about a 45%- 50% chance of winning), they are likely to make it to the finals. Oh, and wanna know something else… Netherlands are unbeaten since 2008… let me repeat that… Netherlands are unbeaten as a team since two years ago. They have not lost in something like 23 games. Now, that is amazing.</p>
<p>On another note, the Spain-Portugal game can have any outcome… both are great teams… I wouldn’t be too sure one way or the other. In other words, if Portugal beat Spain (who were considered favourites to win the whole thing before the tournament), I wouldn’t be too surprised.</p>
<p>Indeed. Netherlands have an extremely formidable team. The Dutch won all their group games without their best player, Robben (who only played the 2nd half of the Cameroon game and instantly rattled it off the post within 10 minutes of getting on the pitch). So by no means does Brazil have an easy road to the finals. I’d say the Dutch win this game in extra time/penalties vs Brazil. </p>
<p>As for the game tomorrow, I have Portugal beating Spain. Portugal has easily the best defense in the WC. With Torres having an absolutely sub par wc, Coentrao with 3 backs I believe can shut down the wings of the Spain offense. Extra time with portugal winning.</p>
<p>^ Torres is having a sub par WC because he’s just coming off an operation. You forget that Villa is having a phenomenal WC and Fabregas comes off the bench for Spain.</p>
<p>Villa is a monster this WC, Casillas can stop goals, and the Spanish defense and pressure can be a *****.</p>

<p>The Argentina vs. Germany game will be a good one. Germany really impressed me with their game with England… The german passing and ballhandling (at one point in the game) was the best I’d seen in the whole tournament. With that being said, Argentina seems unbeatable. I think it’ll be close. </p>
<p>I really am rooting for Netherlands… Brazil will be tough to overcome but I think it might go to overtime… and eventually 2-1 for the Netherlands. Fingers crossed.</p>

<p>the problem is that japan’s games are boring to watch… they might be playing decently and efficiently so far, but the players lack creativity…</p>
<p>the Netherlands are a great team, no one can deny it, but so is Brazil… AND, hopefully we (br) will have all of our players recovered by friday, and all desperate to win… I dont agree with Genre: brazil has the best defense =P</p>
<p>And of course, im desperately rooting for Germany!! They have a great team (every game i watch i like özil even more) and Maradona simply has to go home WITHOUT making it to the semi-finals…</p>
