Official Yale 2011 Scea Thread

It might be a little early for this, but senior year is starting soon and that means we're going to be starting on our applications if we haven't already (at least in theory :D)...so, introduce yourselves, fellow SCEAers (remember, you are more than your GPA and SAT scores). We can use this thread as our countdown when the time comes, but for now let's just chat about how we're looking forward to the non-college-related aspects of senior year. And of course, how great Yale is, and how much that other school sucks in comparison :) Just kidding, let's keep it friendly...

Hey, I'm half Peruvian, half Korean, and I live in New York City. I go to Stuyvesant HS, and I'm applying Yale SCEA =).

I think it's funny that one can automatically assume the other school is Harvard and that no matter what Princeton does, it's always 2nd runner up. Even if it gets ranked higher...everyone knows US News just made a typo. lol

Good luck to all the future applicants. I will be organizing your applications and decisions this winter. (I get to work in the admissions office this year :))

Cool! nice to meet you people.
And Yale08: Don't mess up!! (just kidding, that sounds cool!)
and brand: you can substitute either Harvard or Princeton--I was thinking Harvard but only because i DESPISE harvard. Princeton is the runner up in hatedness only :) we all know rankings stink.

and for the record: I think I will be applying to both Harvard and Princeton...darn parentals! Yale Gods, Know that I mean it not!

yale08, what exactly will you be doing?

haha jimbob it's ok so many others are committing the same sin as you that I don't think the Yale Gods can keep up anymore. ;)

Just the normal grunt work. I won't be making any decisions...that's up to the admissions officers.

you just saved yourself a bunch of suck-up posts lol

AHHH it's finally here!

Haha last year I had no life... so I became friends with all the '10 SCEAers. Good times.

I'm so excited for this!

Thanks theoneo...but lets keep the stress levels down. Come on, a lot us haven't even started our apps yet! The countdown can wait :) (But I have to admit, the ads at the bottom of that page are quite amusing)

Hey, I'm from Boston (just outside). You all probably hate me because I'm an athletic recruit for track and field (AI of 217 though, so shush!) =)

Of course we don't hate you :) Runners rule

Oh yeah. Didn't realize that, haha. :p

And yes I always enjoy the ads as well. I think that's why I use that site so much.

I'll join the party. I live in Seattle and I'll be applying SCEA. Is it just me, or does it seem like everyone is applying SCEA to Yale, and not to Harvard or Stanford on CC this year? That's just the impression I got looking at people's lists.

There are only goinf to be about 4,000 of us.

yes bluetissues i noticed that too...half of me is glad that more people are waking up to how awesome Yale is...half of me is mad that there's going to be more competition!

Just a friendly hi to everyone who will be applying SCEA to Yale this year. This post will probably be my home during the final weeks before decisions come out, or maybe before that. Regardless, the competition to Yale this year will be the worse yet, but hopefully we all get accepted. Knock on wood

All of me is mad that there's more competition. :D

Haha, hey everyone. So excited to waste my life in this thread... I won't even deny the inevitable.
