Reflection
Strengths: I suck and should absolutely go die - I have no idea what I was thinking applying to Yale; I'm a complete idiot
Weaknesses: Everything was good - nothing was great (although I completely disagree with this - given the time I put into my application [a little rushed] I didn't show them everything I could have, it's a shame, but at least I know they don't know everything about me (I'm a part of a large internationally recognized leadership and humanitarian initiative which I absolutely love, but I was afraid to put it on the application because I was just beginning my journey in November (so much for second chances, recommend live in the moment), SAT scores low
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I think I came off too enthusiastic about Yale and for someone to read thousands of essays it might have sounded prosaic, I was not a star on paper - I should have included more information, I sort of feel embarrassed for applying but ultimately I have no regrets - I just hope I will get to go to college
General Comments: To all future applicants - I would recommend you not treat Early Action as a dry run and only apply early if your application is absolutely perfect because I know that I am a strong candidate; my application didn't do me complete justice. I was pretty sure I would get deferred and I was very wrong. As the pool becomes more competitive it's a very good idea to think of your application as one life line with no second chances. I'm so sorry I wasted their time.
