^ it’s quite inconspicuous if you increase the size of all your punctuation by one or two font sizes. It’ll add on a page or two, depending on how much you increase the size. It will work even better the longer your essay is.

Thanks for inspiration. When I think about it, March 30 really is the best pretext for eating tons of lemon ice cream On a more serious note, fingers crossed for you!

I’m waiting for Berkeley next thursday.

Honestly, if I get rejected by Berkeley (I view it as a 50/50 chance), I will lose all hope for March 30th.

Haha I lol’ed :D. Maybe the teacher will even give a better mark because it was surprisingly not as painful to read as he/she expected.

haha the odd thing is, my teacher LOVES reading these papers.you’d think we were actually writers by trade. he’ll quote us in class and everything.

love him :P

yeah at least i get Vassar and im guessing a few others next week(although i’m not even checking to see when the non-ivies come in, just waiting for letters)

i am REALLY not looking forward to getting my first rejection letter. at all.

The 30th is going to be a big day at my school. I know at least 3 other folks who applied to Yale. One of them lied about her ECs, so I’d be kinda peeved if she gets in and I don’t, even though we’re friends. The main concern for my app is the hastily-written supplement essay. I think that will break me. Hopefully the admissions office takes into account that deferred folks had a lot less time to work on them in comparison to others, though that’s not really an excuse.

^^lol!

I’m not looking forward to a rejection either. I was just rejected from UChicago, so I think I have no chance at all. =

^Once you are at top schools like UChicago and Yale the decisions are largely subjective. Hold on hope! (That is the only way to get into Yale.)

^^Same here, but I was waitlisted. It still feels impossible. One of my best friends got a likely letter from Yale, so that makes me want to get in even more.

waitlisted means you would have gotten in if there were more spaces >.<

I still have a bit of hope, but the rejection really calmed me down lol.

Hey guys Now that RD decision date is coming up, I figured I might as well return to these forums. How’s everyone feeling?

I was also waitlisted at UChicago. While waitlisted students might have gotten in if there were more spaces, it still means that we weren’t up to snuff and/or what they were looking for. I guess that’s the aspect which saddens me the most. I think it’s harder too, because it was the first college decision I received besides my state school, and it forces me to question the strength of my application, which I initially thought was pretty strong. Oh well!

Hopefully in 11 days, we can all rejoice :)

^^ Definitely nervous haha. Welcome back!

10 days, 19 hours, 42 minutes

I thought it was bad waiting for SCEA decisions. This is worse. 10 days…

^ It’s terrible that we have to go through this twice.

I hosted the Yale Reach Out Program (7 Billionth Person Project) for 6 Yalies, in my city, and I took them out and got to know them and Yale better. This makes me want to get in so much more.

100x worse. It is so much more real knowing that this decision is it. Back in December I expected a deferral or a rejection and knew that my college fate probably wouldn’t be decided for several more months. But this time, in the course of a few moments, I’ll hear back from several schools and it really will be over.

Any opinions on whether being deferred SCEA puts one at a disadvantage (or advantage) in the regular pool of applicants?
