* Strengths: legacy, traveling abroad, grades/APs
- Weaknesses: sat scores and not nationally recognized
- Why you think you were accepted/deferred/denied: SATs and its Yale.

Though I do have some good news. My dad contacted the dean of admissions about an interview and now I have one tomorrow.

dang. My friend got deferred and he told me yale EA was brut4l…so I came on this thread to check out some stats and…wow

you guys went through some TOUGH screening/competition. GL all ya’ll with killer stats in RD

How many perfect SAT scores got deferred/rejected from Yale early?

Any clue if you can appeal? >_> Is it possible to find out why I was rejected? Can I email or somethin’?

Pretty sure you can’t do either.

I think this is a big deal. People ignored this, and maybe it caused them to be rejected/deferred.

^ I think it’s a big deal too, but I don’t think Yale (or any other college) has a way of knowing whether or not the applicants used Score Choice, since it’s the applicants’ own private College Board transactions. I may be wrong though.

ok, one, you guys missed the post where wantstoleave clarified by saying he sent the ACT, therefore didn’t send subject tests…
that aside, you can use score choice but your colleges are notified that you are using score choice, which, yes, I know, ruins the point…but that’s collegeboard for you…
so yes, if you use score Choice, Yale knows

^No, they don’t…

The ACT is not sent by College Board–
so a student can submit only ACT (meeting criteria)
and not any of the SAT, SAT2 scores…the student fulfilled the requirement.

Not using score choice means if the student submits the SAT, then they are expected to be honorable and send ALL SAT scores and ALL SAT2 scores…
if not --then one can hope karma plays a round.

If you can dream, and not make dreams your master.
If you can think, and not make thoughts your aim.

and treat those two impostors just the same.

Yours is the Earth, and everything that’s in it.

So I guess Im way out of league with my puny 1970 SAT I…

don’t get discouraged. SATs are not everything. There’s so much more to an application than just this number. These stats don’t paint the whole picture, so don’t let it get to you.
