Deferal.

I’m actually pretty happy with this considering that last friday all 17 people in my school who applied EA got flat-out rejected from Stanford.

[/ul]General Comments: I’m pretty confident that they’ve at least read my application carefully. Let’s see what happens in the RD round.

Please don’t say something like you want to die (even if at heart you don’t think that). You STILL HAVE A CHANCE. Be happy!! This sucks right now but you will be okay. I know people say all the time that because you’re strong candidates and applying to Yale you’ll be happy in general, and you may not believe it, but it’s true if you let it. Yale’s awesome and there are soo many paths to happiness.
Acceptees - congratsss yay.
Rejectees - it’s okay. what i said above - there are so many amazing places (and not just less-than-stellar ones, but stellar ones, that you will go to and thrive @.)
Deferees - don’t worry! you have a chance and just chill until then. be grateful.

Should I bother sending my SAT test scores?

oh you deferred kids, be happy. reject from stanford= no idea where i want to go to college now lol

deferred, will post later

Seeing some of the incredible applicants on here, I imagine Yale must have had Tufts Syndrome…
I’m RD myself, but to all who were successful SCEA, congrats on this remarkable accomplishment.
And to all others, deferred or rejected, you are nonetheless amazingly capable yourselves, and I have no doubt you will be excellent candidates to other excellent colleges, or even Yale again for Round 2.
Now, let me find a corner to calculate what exactly my probability of acceptance is…negative infinity to 3.14%.

How could this be considered Tufts syndrome? Yale is not an inferior school but rather one of the top in the world. They can pick whoever they want from the brightest kids in the world.

[/ul]General Comments: Looks like I have some applications to do. I got two Bs this semester, so I hope that doesn’t kill me. Congrats to those who got in.

^^^How can Yale, by definition, have Tufts Syndrome? Wouldn’t they expect those who they accept will indeed attend? I mean its not like Tufts where there are dozens of colleges “better” than you.
