[] Why you think you were accepted/deferred/denied: It’s a total crapshoot. Just glad I wasn’t rejected.
[/ul]General Comments:
Congrats to all who got in! I’m feeling a tad lost, but I’m hopeful for the future. If I had gotten in I would have only applied to one other school, so maybe this is a sign I’m meant to go somewhere else. And to any underclassmen on this forum, remember that test scores aren’t everything and that it’s all up to chance after a certain point! Fingers crossed for regular decision, but I’m still hopeful. c:

I planned myself for this (by not doing any of my other college essays, of course).

Decision: Deferred

[] Job/Work Experience: Yale lab research, Stanford clinical research
[] Volunteer/Community service: Caring for children in hospitals, tutoring at school
[] Summer Activities: Brown summer program

[] Counselor Rec: No idea
[] Additional Rec: Professor from Yale; didn’t know him as well as I could have
[] Interview: Almost too late because my interviewer was out of town until the Monday on the week the interview reports were due; otherwise went normal

[] Gender: Male
[] Income Bracket: 200,000+
[] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): n/a
[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: Not much–perhaps my SAT score, my essays, and a few of my recommendations
[] Weaknesses: I have no idea how some of my recommendations were (my teacher has a habit of turning them in on the day they are due), I didn’t fully like my essays, I didn’t revise my essays enough, I turned my application on the 28th, my interview was harried and nearly late (and I didn’t sleep the night before), I didn’t project myself as someone at the caliber that Yale students usually are, lack of awards (though I don’t think that that matters that much), relatively low GPA (but I did get 4.0 in junior year)
[] Why you think you were accepted/deferred/denied: I wasn’t very pleased with my application overall. It needed more coherence and impact.
[/ul]General Comments: If you were accepted, deferred, or rejected, you probably know why. The only thing to do now is to rethink, reassess, and then finish with a flair! Don’t give up no matter what the results are: no one got anywhere with only hope.
