Official Yale EA Decisions - Class of 2010

i'm not sure, but I'm guessing drunk Yalies p1ss on it? Lol that's what my friends told me about the statue of Ben Franklin at Penn.

and just a page ago there was a mexican with like 1900 composite who got in over us.

aa is alive and well

it all depends on a person's SITUATION. A mexican american with a tax bracket similar to any other financially well-off suburban upringing won't automatically get in. Just wanted to clear it up once and for all that being of a certain race isn't going to get you into your dream college. It depends on the situation.

Do the admissions officers see your family's income bracket?

My tour guide told me his friend had ****ed on it when he was drunk -.-. This was after I rubbed it. I still love Yale though lol.

ah, how i cannot wait to fully participate in such storied traditions of Yale.

Yay Yale 2010!

at harvard, john harvard's foot is peed on so much it's a different colour
at yale, a group of us from harvard demanded to know if...blue boy's or whatever his name is...foot was peed on, and the tour guide girl swore to God it wasn't...

what in the world is this "hook"? seems most people don't have one, but I want to know what it is

This thread is TOO DEPRESSING! I've seen great applications deferred and rejected and some lesser than those accepted, it's too confusing! This just makes me even more insecure about my own app, I just can't wait to get the app in and get the decision over with.

Come check out the thread!

Decision: Deferred

[] SAT IIs: 800 Math IIC 760 Chem 690 Lit
[] GPA:3.89/4.27
[] Our school doesn't really offer too many.. maybe 8 or 9 offered, 4-5 taken. I took Calc BC AP exam: 5 Chem: 3 :(

[] Essays: I thought they were good then, but I gave them a second read.. and I didn't like them too much. No voice.
[] Teacher Recs: Pretty good, I think. I had 3: One excellent, one REALLY excellent, one that praised me a lot but didn't back it up.
[] Counselor Rec: She REALLY liked me!
[] Hook (if any): I'm half Chinese half Pakistani. I'm also a first generation college student, but Yale doesn't know that because I thought foreign universities count. Apparently if your parents got anything below or different than an American BS degree, it doesn't count.

General Comments: I wasn't really expecting to get in EA, but it sucked nonetheless. I think it was the essays that did it for me. At least I hope so, because I can send in some more! I had an amazing interview too. We really hit it off, and my interviewer looked like she really wanted me to go to Yale. Hopefully my chances will go up once I tell Yale about all the new developments!

aw, sofia, i'm sorry! hopefully you can reverse the deferral! but I'm sure bigger and better things await you anyway. I remember reading your essay.... did you ultimately turn that one in, or did you end up revising it a little? (The one about you being half and half)

Hey are you a pvhs alumni? music dept?

Just so you know, this is a pretty old thread so you probably won’t get any responses

Wow. This one takes the cake. This thread was for high school students *who would have graduated college seven months ago. *

It’s scary to think how fast times passes. That these kids, who once spent their time worrying over Yale decisions like us, have already grown up.

This is the Ivy Dreams kids’ class.
