Official Yale SCEA Countdown Thread!

Another international here! :) International pride haha.

44 days left everyone!

Btw, without getting sentimental, I am truly amazed by the talent and achievements of the Yale SCEA applicants on this forum. It's truly astounding. Best luck to all!

Let's achieve the typical 30 percent acceptance rate for CC'ers!!! Go 09!!!

And now for the waiting game. Does the ELI account arrive by snail mail in 2 weeks?

Submitted. The panic has begun. :O

After one month in the making, I finally submitted my app! Does anyone know what happens if you get the Eli ID and find out that you are missing some stuff in the apps AFTER the deadline? Just wondering.

Thank you Descartez, and thanks to princessbell for posing the question! I'm a parent who didn't realize that early action also meant early CSS Profile filing also! Just got it in...and I had the nerve to tease my daughter about only making the application deadline by 24 hours!

As far as I know, missing this deadline will not shut an EA applicant out of financial aid. It only means that Yale will not be able to deliver an FA estimate to the applicant should s/he be admitted on the EA decision date.

Yale, take me now please...

so how long til theyll create a yale 2013 forum? =D

240er - i don't think they start reviewing your app until everything is in. if its early enough in the process, they will wait for you to send it in. if its too late, like december, they will probably put you into regular decision.

Dec 15 is so far away!! is that the absolute earliest?I thought i heard something about notification in early Dec as they make decisions about certain applicants...

nope, definetely mid-December according to the website, the 15th according to CCers posts about the Eli account.

outinleftfield-I'm really glad for CCers for answering my question! I'd never thoroughly browsed the financial aid site, and didn't realize I could get a financial aid estimate at the same time as a decision (well, assuming I'm accepted :)) I rushed to get it done last night- lucky my dad wasn't busy!

wait so i applied EA but totally didn't know about the whole filing-the-profile-early thing so what happens now?

Good luck to those applying! Looking forward to seeing next year's CCers! Yale is an incredible community!! PM me if u have any specific questions!

alamode: From what I understand, you're good you just won't get your aid offer at the time of your decision. you can file later as long as you checked that applying for aid box on the Common App.

ok cool. but then whats the next deadline? should i just do it asap?

Just do it sometime before they send out your acceptance/denials, I say. Then in case that they do accept you, you can send it off right away.

How do college know whether you're profiling your css for early action or regular decision?

anyone else feeling increasingly worse about their chances as December 15th approaches or should I take this as an intuitive sign that I'm getting rejected?

Surprisingly, I've managed to put that aside for a while and focus on the activities going on right now in my life. Probably around the 1st of December, I'll start getting really antsy, especially as deadlines for regular apps get closer. I really hope I don't have to fill out 7 more....
