This is my 1000th post. My 1001th post will be my decision, just coz I'm cool."

Lol...wow...we have really gone crazy in these last few days haven't we?

Just an aside--I think that we, as future leaders of tomorrow, need to take some initiative about nomenclature here... 'ohlevel' isn't gonna cut it. 20-eleven, now--there's an idea. We didn't go around in 1996 calling it 'nineteen hundred and ninety-six" after all, did we?"

Ohleven isn't that bad, though.

I don't know, that seems kind of cluttered. There's always One-One, I guess, but I'm not the most creative person in the world.

Good luck from the Williams board!

ditto grace. We're desperately trying to stick it out till williams SNAILMAILS decisions. Good luck

Good luck! I will be applying to Yale RD if I don't get into ED Brown PLME (which I will find out in exactly 1 hour)

Good luck from current students. I look forward to meeting you all.

decision are up!!!!

[] Weaknesses: SAT's
[li] Why you think you were accepted/deferred/denied: Nothing too spectacular, I was hoping to be fast enough to get recruited, but wasn't[/li][/ul]Other Factors:
General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc: I really did expect this. Everyone at my school thought I was a shoo-in, but they obviously didn't see last year's results. I'm going to try to not let this get to me, my SAT scores from Dec. should be higher so maybe I can get in RD. I'm just glad that I did at least get deferred, this means with athletic recruit I have a good shot at getting into Dartmouth RD. Good luck to everyone just now checking!

Decision: Rejected

[li] Other stats (Awards, etc.): a few of the usual ones, national merit semifinalist, ap scholar with distinction, etc.[/li][/ul]

too depressed to list the other stuff...

General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc:
damn...i wanted a deferral. =(
probably rejected because of weak GPA or someone else from my school got in. i knew the other 2 applicants both had very impressive apps.
well GL everyone else!

Decision: Deferred

Stats:[ul]
[] Fee Waiver Used?: No

[] SAT IIs: 750Lit, 720Lat, 700M2
[] GPA, Weighted and Unweighted: Unweighted only: 3.9
[] Rank: Not sure, I think top 10%
[] ACT: 33
[] APs (including this year's): Latin Lit (5), US History (4), Calculus AB (4), European History (3), English Comp (4), American Gov. (?), Statistics (?), English Lit (?)
[] IBs (including this year's: N/A

[] Number of Apps from Your School: 4
[] Other stats (Awards, etc.): 3 Gold Medals in the NLE, 9th place in the state in the WSOSB (Washington State Ocean Sciences Bowl)
[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] ECs listed on app: Flute, Singing, Drama Club (acting and directing), Volunteering at the Aquarium, Marine Science Team, Rec. League Basketball
[] Job/Work Experience: Nannying all summer, babysitting off and on
[] Essays (subject and responses): One hard to explain... about how I got over my fear that learning music theory would make my songwriting process to lifeless and theoretical and how that taught me to cross the line between the creative and theoretical and how now I want to do it with science and go from the theoretical to the creative and into research. The other one was about when my dad was really sick last year and had heart surgery and we didn't know if he would make it and how I dealt with it and grew from it. I thought they were really well-written and the best part of my application.
[] Teacher Recs: One was ridiculously good, I was amazed when I read it. The other still very very positive but not as detailed as the first one.
[] Counselor Rec: Just got a new counselor so he doesn't know me well. He had some grammatical errors in it, but it was very positive and said accurate things about me.
[] Interview (feel, interviewer and general location): It was a little weird because my interviewer never asked me to basic questions (ex: "Why do you want to go to Yale?") but we got along well and talked for a long time.
[] Hook (TASP, RSI, Research, etc.): None
[/ul]Location/Person:[ul]
[] State or Country: Seattle, Washington
[] School Type, Average Stats of School (if available): Public
[] Ethnicity: Whte
[] Gender: Female
[] Income Bracket: Mid-range
[] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): None
[] Strengths: Essays, Teacher Recs
[] Weaknesses: Test scores, class rank
[li] Why you think you were accepted/deferred/denied: Because almost everyone was deferred, my test scores aren't that hot and well, Yale is really random anyway, so you can never really know.[/li][/ul]Other Factors:
General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc: I'm upset because I really wanted to get in, but I'm glad that I at least got deferred, not rejected. I really, really, really hope that my friend who also applied early gets in, because Yale is 100% perfect for her and she is amazing. So, as long as she gets in, I think I'll be fine for a while. I just hope hope hope hope I have good news come April.

General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc:
I don't think my experience is the norm for most of you guys. I ace standardized tests, but not my classes. (Although to be fair, I'm at a school with crazy grade deflation, where the average HYP kid gets about a 92 UW.) Then I've got the legacy, which isn't the norm.

Good luck to all of you, and congratulations to those who got accepted. All of you are great kids.

ADMITTED!!!!

BEST FEELING EVER!!!

For others admitted: Could you reach the Class of 2011 homepage or Bulldog Days registration site? It won't let me and I'm worried...

No, I can't reach either of those things. They just don't have everything set up yet.
