*Official Yale Wait-list Thread - Class of 2016* (if I may)

@StephanieH let’s wait andbsee what happens this week before panicking

I know that it was a stressful time for us with the wait game. I was wondering through that time if anyone had gotten off. I am sharing our story in case you were like us wondering. Hope it helps one way or another

I haven’t gotten any news about wait list…has anyone been denied, yet?

Uuuuuu it’s 21st! hahahaha let’s see what happens this week! If not we can always organize a massive waitlist get together and cry.

No one was denied last year till the 6th of June. I don’t think it being the 21st means much other than we might have another small chance of getting accepted. So, if the waitlist doesn’t work out, where will you guys matriculate?

The get together doesn’t sound like a bad idea.

I third the get together! Except you guys are kind of far away… maybe I can Skype in or something ;)

I am really anxious about what is going to happen this week. There’s still hope…

@StephanieH.: I’m planning to matriculate to Brown, but, at this point, even if I were (I doubt it) accepted to Yale, I would probably deny their offer, because I thought it through - I love Brown too much. Brown also saw my potential before Yale (I was accepted early by a likely letter). I would only consider Yale if they gave a more significant amount of financial aid.

How about y’all?

^^ Yale financial aid > Brown (at least for our family)!

^Ditto, by a considerable amount.

Yeah, Yale financial aid is very generous.
@Ensueno I’ll be attending Northwestern U. I know what you mean though; we’re pretty much Yale’s backup, but we should take into account the fact that Y rejected 25,000+ applicants :)

Anyone yet?

Not to give anyone false hope, but I was told by an adcom that they aren’t finished with WL decisions yet. Best of luck to us all!

Nope. Although I fear that chances of me getting in are pretty slim at this point (due to the international “quota”).

If not accepted, I will attend an EU institution.

@PuppiesQuack When did you call? But yeah, thank you very much for this info!

(BTW, I love how so many people – inc. me – started posting on CC for the first time on the WL thread.)

@JamesLangr I’m on the same plan as you :). I didn’t know there was a quota for internationals… Are you sure of this?

Really? Where at?

Well, there is an informal quota – that is, IF the student accepted from your area turns them down, they will accept you. So the chance for us is now pretty slim (they would most likely accept us already if our region was underrepresented), although I am trying to use some other methods how to get myself back in the game. (Though they still might accept you if you’d fit in gender/major wise…)

Where are you from BTW?

Any idea if they are open to letting one know the status if one calls ?

Is anyone on here not international ?

No, I haven’t heard anything here at So.Cal. I just wished they would update us at least by e-mail stating that the wait list procession was still going on at least…

@JamesLangr what “methods” are you using to get yourself back in the game. Good luck!
