*Official Yale Wait-list Thread - Class of 2016* (if I may)

Haha, I really made it sound way more sophisticated than it was. It is
just a gamble though. It might backfire horribly.

Good luck to you too!

Thanks! What’d you do? I’m not sure what we are supposed to be doing at this point ha!

Hopefully some of you guys will get those spots. I’m still crossing my fingers. Anything I should be doing? Calling?

I have some information about the financial aid if anybody is curious. I was accepted off of the waitlist a few weeks ago and received my financial aid package yesterday. I originally thought that maybe since I was accepted at such a late date, my package would not be substantial. I was very wrong. I am very happy to say that I received a full (56k) scholarship with no loans and no parental contribution. Yale seems to be very generous, im so grateful.

@Hpina2 First of all Congratulation!!! You were not just lucky to be pulled off wait list but given that the school is need blind got full financial aid as well. Good Luck to you!!! Make the best of this opportunity.

@JamesLangr I’m from (Venezuela) Chile. My plans are in Poland and Russia. What about you?

Anything going on? Anyone hear anything?

What do you guys suggest I do… Would calling help? Thanks for the advice.

Good luck to all!

Honestly I think the only thing we can do now is sit down and wait. If anyone disagrees, I would really want to know what they did :D

Yeah, I hear ya. I think calling may just bug them? But I have no idea… If anyone else wants to offer input… That’d be great!

Has anybody called them yet? Not knowing when the rejections/next wave of acceptances (if there is even going to be one) is agonizing!!!

@ysquared: No, I haven’t received any information whatsoever concerning the wait-list from Yale.

All we can do is patiently wait. With respect to last year’s wait-list, the second wave didn’t occur until the beginning of June, and, even then, very few people were accepted, thereafter rejection letters were sent.

However, Yale has been known to drag the wait-list – such as 2 years ago – up to July.

I think they might come this week. I’m guessing mayve they took this week to recheck the apps and decide and now they are going to begin calling…

i’m kind of mad i didn’t think to look up this thread earlier, i too am in yale limbo and although i’m real happy for y’all that made it off the list i’m quietly mourning my own chances u______u SO MANY INTERNATIONAL PEOPLE wow i’m from california… yale’s my absolute first choice but i’m not digging my chances like i said before BUT i guess we can take hope from the fact that they haven’t quite rejected us yet? no? i dunno ahhh if any of you make it off when the second wave starts, pls let us know!

any thoughts on calling?

We should be patient. We’ll most likely hear from them by next week. I don’t think calling will help. They’ll just tell us that they’re still making decisions. Maybe we should get excited about the college that has accepted us and whatever happens happens. Good luck to everyone though; there’s still hope…

btw, I e-mailed them 3 days ago and this is what they said:

“If you have not heard from us about the wait list, then your status remains the same as it has been for the last few weeks. If a student is taken off the wait list or if we do not plan to take any more students off the wait list, we will be in touch in order to notify you of our decision.”

It didn’t help much.

ah thanks stephanie, yea i agree we should just wait for them to contact us, i can’t imagine they’d be too pleased if all 700 of us start calling and emailing like mad

Did you all recieve the e-mail? I just got one that said they closed the waitlist…

^ What did it say?

I haven’t gotten one, but I might get one soon…

:( My status remains the same. It still says I’m waitlisted. What does it say for you guys?

did anyone hear anything ?
