I am using common app. I am completing the form online, but my teacher is doing the recommendation offline. When I printed out the rec form, my ID did not appear. I was just wondering whether my schools will still accept the recommendations. I have seen a few posts about this issue already, but nobody is CERTAIN. I tried looking on common’s app’s FAQs, and I couldnt find the answer either.

Am I supposed to put any info on the outside of the envelope in order to identify who I am when colleges are sorting these things? All I have in the envelope is the actual recommendation. On the outside, I have the teacher’s name and my school address at the top left, and in the center I have the college’s name. Should I place on the back of the envelopes my name, date of birth, or any other identitfying information?

What is the postage for a large envelope? I have a 10 X 12 envelope, I put 83 cents on it. Is it enough?

When you fill out your teacher's information, do not put their e-mail. Then the forms will appear and they'll have your ID.. At least that happened to me.

I don't know the answer to that.. I gave my envelopes already and I started thinking about the fact that there's no identification on them which kinda worries me. I don't know what to do either.

Ask the post office people. I have 9x12 envelopes and got 2 stamps for $1.17.

can you just write the id on the page? The id shows up on the bottom of the page to the left of the page number. So view the pdf and note the number and write it in once printed (not sure if I am answering what you are asking so sorry if I'm not!)

no additional info needed on the envelope - you have the right stuff

My son paid $1 postage on his 10 x 12 envelopes - since he didn't know if the teacher was going to send in 1 or 2 page recommendation plus the common app page etc. He may have overpaid but a few cents extra for peace of mind was good.
