One of my teachers decided to mail in my recommendations, but how will I know when the colleges receive them? They should have arrived by now, as it's been over a week, but on the common app site the status hasn't changed (it just says offline form). Should I call/email the admissions departments of the colleges to which I'm applying just to make sure they have received my evaluations just to be sure, or am I just stressing too much?

First, you need to understand that your common app account will never change to show receipt of items that are sent offline. The common app does not track anything other than the items submitted through the app itself.

Second, it’s too early to stress about this. No schools process received items immediately. Often it takes several weeks or longer for them to acknowledge receipt.

Third, unless you provided the wrong address to your teacher, you can assume the recommendations were received unless you find out otherwise. After you submit the app, many schools will give you a log in to a portal where you can view what has been received. Most schools that do not have portals will contact you directly if something is missing after the deadline passes.

Thanks. I guess I need to learn to take some deep breaths before continuing with this college app process, haha.
