Oh Boy, the SAT

Well, my EC's, grades, and course rigor are all excellent, and I am keeping up just fine. My application is looking great except for one thing: The SAT. I received a 1670 in October. On a good day I would probably make around 1750. I am practicing rigorously every day, is it actually possible for me to improve by ~500 points?

It’s probably easier to make large gains in Math than in CR or Writing. There’s a limited amount of material covered in Math - CollegeBoard even gives you all the formulas that you’ll need. On the other hand, you can study vocabulary and literature for months and the likelihood that you’ll study something that’s actually on the test is slight. If you’ve got room on the upside for Math, you might do well to put a lot of effort there.

why are you posting this in the Harvard forum?

Well, I suppose it’s not the best place to put it. My apologies. I put it here because, well, actually I don’t know why. Harvard was on my mind, so I posted it here. I will move it a.s.a.p.
