Not sure which ones a more shocking: that we lost Christine McVie or that she was 79 yo. RIP
This one makes me sad. Loved Fleetwood Mac…especially in the early days.
We used to listen to Fleetwood Mac on our ski trips. It’s definitely a shocker. RIP
Sorry to hear that!
That’s sad. I think I’m one of the few people who preferred Christine McVie to Stevie Nicks. I’m not a big fan of FM, but always liked Over My Head.
This makes me so incredibly sad. I saw Fleetwood Mac for the first time in 1975 from the front row. I’ve seen them many times since then, but this was one of my favorite concerts. I loved Christine’s voice as it was such a contrast to Stevie Nicks.
This one makes me sad too. I loved FM for so many years and even follow a live cover band locally. RIP Christine McVie. Your beautiful voice will live on.
I saw them in concert 4 years ago. They were still great. She wrote some great songs.
Sad.
Makes me realize we had a great generation of songs from some great people. It’s not the same for our current generation.
79! Wow!
I’ve seen FM in concert many times and always appreciated Christine.
Our local rock station announced this as I was listening and segued right into Songbird. Ouch…
Also very sad to hear this. I loved her voice. My daughter in law just used Everywhere as one of her processional songs at the marriage to my son earlier this year. Her songs live on!
I was looking for the stat. I can’t find it - but I was reading last year and correct me where I’m wrong- I think many think of Stevie when they think of the band but Christine sang the most songs of anyone in the band (was what I read).
Obviously a legend…she left the limelight for a while…but a legend.
Her last name was Perfect - and while no one is, it’s fitting for a legend.
RIP.
You are correct that Christine sang lead in more songs than Stevie.
I think (and I am not going back to count) she also sang lead more often than Lindsay Buckingham (whose total is skewed by Tusk), but it’s close.
Very sad. I grew up with that music.
I loved both Christine’s and Stevie’s voices. I saw Stevie live a few years ago and she was great and very engaging. Fleetwood Mac had two great women , with distinct, very interesting voices. RIP Christine and thanks for the memories.
RIP Christine McVie - my favorite of hers…I played this while my D & I held my MIL hand as she died. We 3 were the only women in the family. We 3 were alone when she passed.
Come to think about my husband and I did see Christine McVie and Linsey Buckingham in Palm Springs in 2017, Fantasy Spring Resort Casino, I thought they were great.
They were the soundtrack to a summer I spent working at the Jersey Shore (much less exciting than the TV show)
Ahh, Songbird. That was her. She was the best of that bunch.
