OK I started a thread in the Princeton forum but was ridiculed by yourdirtysockzx, so I moved here.
I've already established that Princeton is my first choice and would appreciate any feedback.

ECs-Spanish scholar--Founder and President of the Spanish Club, "A" in Advanced/AP spanish since freshman year, inducted into foreign language honor society, gold medal on the National Spanish exam since freshman year, going to Spain this summer to study, volunteer at a head start program with Hispanic inner city kids during the summer.
President of the Campus Republicans
Staff Writer for the school newspaper
Model UN
Varsity soccer & golf

I know that the college is trying to fill out some of the less popular majors and I will most likely pursue Spanish as my "hook." How can I best do that?

On a side note, although Princeton is my first choice I am also considering applying to these other selective schools:
Duke
Dartmouth
UVa
Georgetown
Williams--uncle on the board of directors

Triple legacy. Do you even need to ask?

I mean, they put you in a DIFFERENT POOL from the rest of the applicants.

Well the legacy admit rate is about 39 %, which sounds high but usually legacy applicants are very well qualified. And without early decision, it's impossible to say how the game will change.

More than 1 out of every 3 legacies will get into Princeton. Chances are, you'll get in. You have the basic stats. You are in a smaller pool of applicants.
Princeton won't really change its policy of favoring legacies. It has to attract those donors somehow.

I appreciate the comments from enderkin, but does anyone else have an opinion? Anyone? Anyone?

50 more views in the last 12 hours and no responses? Douchebags...

lol, watch these noobs jump on your case for calling them "douchebags"

110 more posts and not a single decent reply. You people disgust me.

Triple legacy = MATCH for Princeton.
I'm guessing you'll get in, if you apply ED.

Princeton is getting rid of ED this year...otherwise I definitely would. Thanks for the post though (unlike all these other guys)

Oh, yes. I forgot.
Well, I say that you still have a pretty decent chance RD. TRIPLE LEGACY xD

What the hell? Getting help here at CC is a privilege, not a right. You aren't going to get responses by calling people "douchebags" or telling them that they disgust you. Perhaps that ridicule was called for. (And I don't see how yourdirtysockzx's comment could be considered "ridicule." Take things a little more lightly.)

If you didn't have the 'tripple legacy' thing, I'd say Princeton was a high high reach for you.

the only thing that makes Princeton 'worth a shot' for you is the triple legacy

Still, you don't seem any particular nor outstanding.

You have a low chance of getting into Princeton.. and if Princeton doesn't take you, where you have a legacy at, neither would any of the ivies.

I'm not so sure how you might pursue Spanish as your "hook..." I mean, as foreign languages go, it's one of the easier ones to master (not to belittle your hard work). Hopefully you'll have some world-view-altering experience in Spain this summer to write a really fabulous essay about, because that could give you an edge. A word of advice: do try to refrain from insulting the admissions officer who'll be reading it.

Well, Kyle, I would consider it a privilege if anybody had actually replied. It's certainly not a privilege to spend a lot of time compiling information and not get much response. Thanks to those who did post (except KyleDavid)

And Russia, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna write my essay about the volunteer work I do at a head start program downtown over the summer. Most of the kids are very poor hispanics, which will hopefully demonstrate my interest in spanish "beyond the classroom."
