Oh gosh, please chance me!

<p>Hi guys! I would usually never make this chance thread, but I honestly have no idea whether I should even get my hopes up or not. I'm a junior, soo any hope for Harvard, Columbia, UPenn, Cornell, UChicago, Northwestern, WashU, or NYU??</p>

<p>ACT: (will take in a couple of months) practice tests have been telling me 34/35</p>

<p>SAT II:
Math II (June)
Physics (June)</p>

<p>Course Load: (toughest available to any junior in my school)
Honors Physics
Honors Precalc/Calc BC
Honors English
AP US History
AP Spanish
AP Chemistry
AP Macro (selfstudy due to scheduling conflicts)</p>

<p>Current GPA: currently 4.0 UW, weighted is released at the end of the year</p>

<p>Awards:
High Honor Rolls
Principal's List
Scholar Athlete
3rd place in regional science research competition
Will enter many more science competitions this coming spring</p>

<p>ECs:
Science Research (since 9th grade)
School Newspaper (since 9th grade) (currently a writer/section editor) will be editor in chief next year (HUGE time commitment)
Key Club Member
Amnesty International
May work on starting FBLA in school (?)</p>

<p>Volunteer Work
- Helped start a entirely self-run candy store in local religious center to help with fundraising since 7th grade (100s of hours)
- Local hospital volunteer since 9th grade
-Various walks/fundraising events with school's community service club</p>

<p>Work-experience (never actually worked for money)
-Science research summer intern for very large research institute in NYC (unpaid internship)</p>

<p>Summer experiences
-Visiting relatives and doing service work in Pakistan
-Conducting research project
-Next summer: hopefully LEAD summer business institute at UPenn (if I get in) and another science research project</p>

<p>I have a 208 on the PSAT, if that helps you gauge anything.
I think my predictions for my ACT are pretty accurate also. My scores are consistent.
Any ideas?</p>

<p>Yes, we do precalc for the first semester. Then we start Calc BC for the second semester, and continue on until next year when we take the AP test. It’s really stupid IMO.</p>

<p>your projected ACT looks good but if you’re taking the SAT you should try to get a 2200+ to be competitive. i can’t say much without your scores, but your grades and ECs seem impressive. most of the schools you list will still be reaches b/c they are for anyone, and i don’t know about WashU, but you have great chances at NYU (i’d say you’re pretty much in) and the others are worth applying to. just keep up the good work with your grades, and work on your standardized test scores. good luck!</p>
