Oh man....what the hell

Hey guys,

I just logged on to my Inside ND account, clicked on the Student Calendar TAB.... well, it says Calculus A which I registered for....but whats up with this--- COMMON human diseases 10106!!!?? I didn't even register for this course. I 'm going to be a premed and bio major and I'm supposed to be getting Martin Tenniswood for General Biology 101061... Well anyways, I looked up Class Search and saw that 200 spots are filled for Gen Biology 101061, and only 9 SPOTS are remaining!!! I just sent an email to the registrar telling about my problem. Will they make this adjustment? I mean, I am going to be a Biology major and just seeingme registered to some random course- Common human diseases is worrying me because I wanted and need to be in Gen Bio.

Do you have an advisor assigned yet? If you do, get in touch with them and First Year of Studies. Regardless, don't worry too much if the class fills because people will drop right after the first class and your advisor (if there was a mistake) should be able to get you in. No worries, it will work out, but do contact FYS if you have an advisor and ask them!

Even if the slots fill up before you can get a hold of your advisor, your advisor should be able to get you into the class as long as you tell them your situation.

I signed up for Calculus 1--but they put me in Calculus II--I guess cause I got a 5 on my AP--but I'm doing engineering--I really want a good foundation in Calculus--I don't have an advisor, but I saw on line that Deboer is the first year engineering advisor--I've emailed him several times, but no response. What to do?

Do you really feel that you do not have a good foundation with getting a 5 on the test? If you are sure you are not ready, I would keep trying to get in touch with your advisor. Try not to worry too much, however, because that is something that can be switched rather easily so you can probably take care of it once you get on campus as well. What I would recommend you do though is perhaps try the Calculus II, or at least go the first day and get the syllabus. It may not be as bad as you think!
