Oh my God! Am I a Failure?

Heres my situation guys...

High school-
Freshmen - Us History, Gym/Health, Physical Science, Lit/Comp 9, Math/Spanish Failed
Sophomore - World History, Algebra 1, Spanish 1 (Second Half failed...arrrhg), Biology, Lit/Comp 10, Engineering 1/2

Now, this year I am going to be a Junior and plan to take...

American Lit, Econ, Adapt. Algebra 2, Half/ Spanish 2, Half/ An EC, Chem. In Modern World, then a Film Making class over at a community college.

I have recently starting to feel like im going into depression due to these grades, when I have an older brother who has been accepted into University of Michigan, and did great his freshmen year.

The College that I would love to attend would UofM, but seeing as there is basically no way I would be accepted, I'm trying to aim at Michigan State.

I need help though, I need to know what my best choices are to get into State, and any advice would be much appreciated. Thank You.

I don't really know what else to say but Do your Best.

don't worry about your brother. it's not a competition. find someplace where you'll be happy and you'll be fine.

You are not a failure!!! You still have a whole year to improve your grades and chances. I'm not sure what your GPA is now, but just do your best and try to get at least a 3.0-3.2 cumulative gpa by the end of junior year, and maybe study a little and aim for a 24+ on the ACT. If you have around a 3.2 GPA and a 24+ on your ACT you'll be in range of MSU and from there it will depend on your essay and extracurriculars. Just remember that if you don't get in, no sweat. There are plenty of colleges out there that will gladly accept you. Don't let anyone tell you that you are a failure
