Oh my God they weren't kidding about NYU aid

I was just accepted as a transfer from George Washington U (i'm a freshman)

Currently, I have a $20k per year grant at GW. This is guaranteed if my grades are 3.0+

I was accepted to UNC Chapel Hill with a $20k per year grant, and their total tuition is way lower than NYU

Is there a way I could get this fixed for NYU? I would like to go but am not sure if it is worth leaving GW at such a cheaper cost

Transfer students get worse aid than incoming freshmen. NYU will not give you 20k/yr, it’s just not going to happen.

I would recommend UNC over NYU, especially if UNC is giving you 20k/yr

However, I don’t think it would be a bad idea to talk to the NYU financial aid office, let them know what you’re getting at other schools, and tell them that you really want to come to NYU. You have nothing to lose!
