Guys guess what I got today in the mail...
a Harvard Application.
out of nowhere

: )

So I guess I'll fill it out and see what happens...

on the other hand, I recently got my SAT II scores
Spanish: 800 <-- I'm hispanic so that 800 doesn't really mean much to me.
French: 750 <--I am however extremely proud of this one :]
Chemistry:640 :[ do you think I should retake this one in October with Math IIC?

Yeah I know other kids get it too, but it was however a pleasant surprise. So yeah, I'll retake Chem.
Arti, nice thinking it didn't click in me to think it was to maintain their low acceptance rate.

They send out many invitations to apply to students with high PSAT scores because this is the group from which most successful applicants come.

They want people from all ethnic groups, of wide-ranging interests, and from all areas of the country.

Im recent years, a very high fraction of the candidates eventually admitted were identified in advance as desirable candidates, and invited to apply in this fashion.

One thing is sure: if you don't apply, your chance of getting in is ... zero!

Given the inflationary effect of prep courses for the real SATs, the PSAT is probably the truest measure of innate ability now, because few students prep for it. No wonder Harvard uses it to trawl (not troll)for the best and brightest. Clever up there in Cambridge.
