Oh My God

i couldn't have been more happy that my application process was almost about to finish when i submitted my apps online...so i didn't go back to check my app and status for awhile, and today, i visited commonapp website and some other school websites and I MADE A HUGE MISTAKE!!!

I kinda edited my main essay at the end of the deadline, right before i submitted them, and i see now that the new essay doesn't fit the title at all!!! the part that addressed the title was gone! why didn't i notice it at the time:(

so now i am completely lost...would it hurt a lot? i mean, even if the title doesn't make sense, would it hurt my chances a lot?

(i don't think i sound very reasonable...)

Don't stress yourself. It is done. You can't change it. Learn to forget it and move on... Hope for the best, always.

Just so that I could sleep at night, and NOT that it would make any difference, I would make the correction on hard copies and mail them to the schools. That way, when an admission officer goes through your file and sees the extra essay and the stamped day it came in, he/she will realize it is an update and MAY consider it. There is nothing more you can do.

e-mail the edited essay to the colleges.
I had a similar problem and the colleges I applied to replaced my original essay with the edited one.
But you should do it ASAP!

I did something similar, and sent out the wrong version of an essay to two schools because of the stupid Common App. I meant to send a version that downplayed my connection to a local college, and accidentally sent the one that I sent to the local college.

But oh well, I'm not going to try to change it now.

Actually, if it really bothers you, you could send the essay w/ a cover letter to the colleges w/ the updated w/e....
