Ok, so it seems to me as though the new SAT has made things quite confusing and straight answers about each colleges' SAT II policies hard to come by. Some top schools, including Harvard and Yale want the new SAT and STILL want 3 SAT II's. So here's what I have:

1 Old SAT Score
1 SAT II Writing Score
1 New SAT Score (with writing section obviously)
2 Other SAT II's (Math IIC and U.S. History)

So...Do I need ANOTHER SAT II score, or can my 3 be Writing, Math, and History. In other words can the SAT II Writing still count as third SAT II even though the new SAT has a writing section??

i think u need another sat2- just to be on the safe side

Both Yale and Harvard will accept the old SAT test. As for SAT II's, Harvard simply says to take any three, while Yale explicitly states "Students who will graduate high school in 2006 will be permitted to submit the SAT II Writing exam as one of the three required SAT II exams, regardless of whether they submit the old or new SAT." If you're happy with your scores, then I think you're fine (as long as any other college you want to apply to doesn't specifically says that they wont take the SAT II Writing)

Heres a very useful website with SAT II requirements for top colleges

Thanks very very much. I am thinking about taking one more test just to be on the safe side and because I haven't done a science one yet and that's one of my stronger points
