Oh my. It's August. CHANCE ME PLEASE!!! :)

Hello everybody. First, I want to say thank you because I truly appreciate this. Second, please be honest because I really want to know if I am totally delusional about my college choices. Thanks!

Intended major: International Relations/Studies
I really would like to be in an urban campus and at a school with good study abroad and internship programs.
So far this is my list of colleges that I am applying to:
- Fordham University - applying EA
- New York University - possibly applying ED
- George Washington University
- Boston University
- University of Massachusetts - Amherst (instate)
- American University
- DePaul University
- Loyola University Maryland
- University of Minnesota - Minneapolis
- Northeastern University
- Hofstra University
- Suffolk University (safety)
- Simmons College (safety)
My top 5 schools are NYU, Fordham, American, BU and GWU. I am visiting the schools in NYC and DC in September so there is a possibility that I might be applying ED to American, NYU, BU, or GWU. I might not apply ED at all. It matters how much I really like the campus because right now I like all those in my top 5.

* I had to stop playing because I blew out my arm in my freshman year. I still was having pain after a year and my arm was practically dead so I had to make the decision not to play.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Babysit my cousin and then my other cousin's child almost every week.
- Work for my father's cleaning company every Friday and Saturday night during the school year and whenever I am needed during the summer. Not the most glamorous job, I know.

Recommendations should be very good and the essay should be too. I'm going to see if my English teacher who is an amazing teacher will look over it.

BUMP please help!

Well, your SAT scores are low but your EC’s are good. I would say that you have a good chance anywhere but Boston University and NYU.

get that SAT score up and youll be fine!

I think you have a good list for your stats. Fordham is probably a match.

Good luck.

I think you have very good chances also at UMass, DePaul, Hofstra and Loyola. Syracuse might be worth a look too. Best of luck!

Don’t apply anywhere ED if financial aid is critical to your family’s ability to pay for school. Also, you don’t mention how hard you studied for the SAT, or how many times you may have taken them. If you have not really applied yourself to studying for the SAT, you should because getting your scores up to 2000 would really help. Taking NYU as an example, your scores are barely above the 25th percentile, so even if you got in, the likelihood of aid is pretty low (not to mention the fact that NYU has a reputation for making REALLY bad aid offers to some students.)

It matters how much I really like the campus because right now I like all those in my top 5.

I’m not sure I would call BU and GWU “campuses” per se, in the traditional sense. Keep in mind when you go visit them that what makes these campuses really cool are their LOCATIONS. Those are the two that I know. Have a good trip!
