My school went through a lot of budget cuts and cut the curriculum of French Classes. Instead of having 4 years of French Class , I only had 2 years. I know that it may not be an excuse for doing so poorly but it is a reason. I wasn’t able to take the class later (Junior or Senior Year) so I had to take it Sophomore Year. AP French, IMO, always seemed to be held to high standards in my school. Last year the only passing grade was a 3. Maybe my teacher isn’t the best, either. Anyways, I plan on self studying AP French again so that I may get a higher score, hopefully.

Hmm…I can understand AP French because it really is one of the harder APs if you’re not a native.

But the others…Did you study?! :O

AP World History (I think a 3 is OK): Didn’t take decent notes. Teacher was the worst I ever had. Never really taught or lectured. Did most of the reading though and I was expecting a 4.

AP Human Geo: To Be Honest, I didn’t put much effort into the class but I felt that I knew the material quite well. I’m disappointed in myself for not doing well.

Looking back I guess I could of done a lot of thing better…

Just don’t submit the scores at all. I didn’t and I did fine in terms of college admissions.

If you do submit the scores, you’ll be paying for canceling each score and a 3 isn’t even that “good” when you consider who else applies. And I agree, it can be seen as grade inflation.

Don’t send your scores. When you enroll in a school and they do accept AP credits, that’s when you can just send your scores and ask for college credit.

Okay, I want you to do four things.
- Are there any tests you felt you did really well on? If you just got your scores and they are this bad, it’s possible the AP scorers may have made a mistake. You should definitely follow up on it and call them.

2) Don’t cancel the scores and don’t worry about it. Just don’t send these scores to colleges because it will hurt you. However, even if they wonder why you didn’t do well on the AP exam–they WILL forgive you because you are just a sophomore and you are allowed to make mistakes.

3)Mentally evaluate your school, how good is the curriculum? How many people go to ivies? How many AP exams are offered?
4) always use the book to study for AP exams. I recommend Princeton Review.

nil, I don’t think the OP has to go that far. You took a test, you screwed up. Now forget about it while you are applying to colleges.

I would agree with nil in respects to “Mentally evaluate your school, how good is the curriculum? How many people go to ivies? How many AP exams are offered?”

Please do answer that, as it would speak well to the possibility of grade inflation.

MmMmM, Trolllzzzzzz. :] Bad ones. :l

^ you missed The Rise and Fall of the Bro ■■■■■■

1) I was expecting solid 4s on AP World and AP Human Geo. I did well on the essays, IMO.

2) OK

3) The Top 10 Students went to UF, John Hopkins, Yale, Princeton, etc. It’s a pretty competitive Public High School In Florida. 21 APs are offered.

4) I’ll make sure I do that. :)

AP scores are free to cancel.

^ Why did you suddenly bump up this one year old thread?

Meh, I don’t really care about Ap scores. Sure I study for them but, I have better things to do than mope about a mediocre test score.

Why were you in AP French as a sophomore?

Technically she only bumped a one month old thread. Bigwig was the one who did the real necroing.

Whooops, you’re right.
