<p>I applied to (only) two programs, BHSI and another research program, and (to my surprise) I was rejected from the first one. I was kind of upset, and I dont think I will get into the other one either because it starts a week before my school ends!
What are your backup plans. Unfortunately, I have none, but are there any free programs that are still open? I want to go into a biology major, so are there any free, or under 1000 dollar research programs?
Unfortunately, I probably wont qualify for financial aid, but my parents dont really want to pay that much :(</p>
<p>Back up plans:
- Get a job
- Volunteer
but if you really want to do research - Contact local professors-see if you can work with them
or a combination.
All of these are for the great price of free and look good on a college app.</p>
<p>Ditto coolblues’s suggestion to contact local professors. I happen to live close to Stony Brook, a MAJOR research institution. If you have some place like that, chances are you can find a SINGLE opportunity. After all, one opportunity is all you need :)</p>
