oh no textbooks

well today I checked my textbooks on the bookstore page and the english class added a required book so the only class they didn't say I have a required book is civil eng intro, do we have textbook for that class? and also I realized that I didn't order my books yet, do you think its too late for me to order now since by the time textbook comes in the mail to my house I would be at UCLA already, should I still order online or just wait until after move in and buy the books then?

its going to be hectic in the bookstore. its best if you buy it earlier.

maybe you can get some cheap deals from www.campusi.com

if you dont think you'll receive the book in time, you can probably ship it to your ucla address

is there an option to order online and just pick it up from the bookstore when I get to UCLA?

Yes there is :)!

Don't forget Textbooks Plus down the block!

well I figured for the first quarter I would just buy from bookstore since I don't want to deal with the risk of getting wrong/bad conditioned book...
and altema, is buying them online and picking up at the store a better choice than buying them when I get there because I remember someone said something like: "you don't want to buy them during the week before, and you don't want to know why" but I actually do... well buying them online then pickup at store be much easier?

I have never purchased my books at the store. When the bookstore site is cheaper than anywhere else, I order it online and pick it up.

I don't see what "you don't want to buy them during the week before and you don't want to know why" is talking about. When I go to pick up my books, it's not very crowded so it makes me think that if you were to go in and buy your books, you could easily get it.

If you don't mind waiting on average half an hour in line to get into the store and another 20 minutes to checkout.

Wait, you're really buying the books from the UCLA store?

Dude, I'd have paid AT LEAST $200-400 more if I bought the books from the UCLA store.

Some books are the same price online & in the store. Such is the case with books that happen to be the newest edition.

As previously stated, kick just wanted to avoid any possible trouble, which obviously comes at a hefty premium.

well I already searched my books online and its not that much cheaper so I figured why not just take the easier way

you can always find cheaper prices online than at the UCLA textbook store.

also find textbooks at bruinwalk.com. not all textbooks are on there but it's super convenient and super easy. i find it a lot easier to exchange books with other students when i get back to LA. it's better than getting books shipped to chicago and then fly with books that basically don't fit in my suitcases. i'd get them shipped to the dorms, but i hate waiting and the uncertainty of it all.

you could also try fb marketplace too, i found like 8 of my books there :) yay
