So, chance me for (gulp)

YALE (SCEA)
BROWN
RISD
WILLIAMS
WESLEYAN
CARNEGIE MELLON - ART
AMHERST
CORNELL

(and yes, i do have safeties which im not posting here - they ARE safeties after all)

SORRY ITS SUCH A LONG READ

So please chance me? I realize that I'm asian, andmy academics aren't that great , but I'm hoping that my extracurricular and involvement in art balances that out? And in terms of my grades, ive improved it and im continuing to improve it throughout senior year, so would they see my upward trend? I'm not a great standardized test taker - yea, i know. it's BS, but true. notice the huge difference between the standardized US History SAT II opposed to the AP US History exams - i know, weak excuse. im not writing that, but its true and I'm working really really hard to enahnce my test-taking abilities

*I'm also going to retake my SAT I for regular decision, and i expect to get 2150 (since the writing score was an abhorration of what I usually got on the 16 practice tests i took - i firmly believe that i can score higher on that section)

thanks

and if u want, list any other schools for me?

I dont think you'll get in Yale mostly because of your academics which seem sub-par. If you get lucky though and truly express your passion through your essay and recommendations and etc. however, then you have a chance.

bump 10char

You cannot NOT send SAT II scores to a college; they send every single college board test ever taken. I would have to say that 630 Math II is a major disturbance.
I am unable to chance you; but I am pretty sure Yale SCEA chance is very slim.

^I agree... Your ECs are good, but the grades/test scores don't cut it for Yale...

i know i cant not send it

but dont they give u the benefit of regarding only your top two?

and yea..im kinda hoping at least for a deferral so i can boost my SAT score a bit more

Take the ACT. Then you only need to send that instead of SAT and SAT IIs. That's what I'm doing =P

It's probably too late for him to take that route, since he's applying early to Yale.

Yale only requires two SAT IIs, but they will see all of four of yours, and that Math IIc is going to reduce the credibility that your SAT I math score holds. It implies that you perform well at the basic speed math of the SAT I, but you falter when faced with topics up to Pre-Calculus.

Once again, your standardized test scores are low for the elite schools like Yale (none of the SAT IIs are great, and your CR reading score is below the mid 50% for Yale). Your school academics are decent, but not great by Yale's standards.

Your ECs are great, but schools do place more emphasis on academics and test scores than they do ECs. You will never hear a Yale admissions officer say that they value ECs over academics. I think you would have a good chance in RD, but you applied SCEA. This year's early pool will be extremely difficult and competitive because many of the kids that would have applied early to Harvard or Princeton are being funneled into Yale. They don't hand out too many deferrals, so don't be too surprised if they outright reject you. I hope that's not the case though.

thanks..i hope thats not too

but honestly, im not going to be THAT disappointed if I get rejected outright. Because my dream dream school is brown, and i wasnt able to apply early decision due to the "decision" aspect of i
