oh say can UC...

so ive read on this site about a million times how the UC system is MOSTLY number based... so as an out-of-stater (seattle, WA), what are my chances with my grades:

3.85 (unweighted...my school doesnt weight)
1380
800 writing
700 lit
700 math 1c
690 math 2c

AND do they really not care about essays THAT much? because then i kind of want to just get this app over with and not spend THAT much time on essays. (and im not talking about doing a really BAD essay just to get it over with, i just mean not trying to make them all completely perfect)...

Uc's are expensive... go to UW.

I dont think it'll happen at top UC's best bets are that you'll get into Merced, UCRiverside and maybe Santa Cruz

Having taken in all the stuff on this board:

Berekley - reach
UCLA - slight reach
the rest - match/safety

w/ UCB and UCLA, me thinks the rest depends on 1)ECs and 2)essays.

yeah since the ucs dont take recs, you need to let the numbers do a lot more talking than at other schools, so for these schools higher sats are probably a safer bet. but good ecs and essays also help.

but for EC's they only leave you like 5 lines, when in reality, most people do more than 5 activities...so how are they supposed to base if off that?

and i thought UCSD wasnt that hard to get into!

rats

so if these Uc's arent gonna work for me lol...how about u mich, unc, or usc anyone?
