Oh wow.

I checked the mail yesterday, and found a small envelope from Johns Hopkins. For a second my heart stopped and I thought... oh god they denied me early! I was that bad! (although I'm not really :-p)

Turns out it was just a thank you for visiting and an invitation to apply. Jeez though, hope that's the last little letter I ever see from them.

Anybody else get the same thrill?

Oh wow, that would have scared me to death...

It happened to me too! I got home from school and saw a letter from Johns Hopkins. I freaked out but later opened it to find that it was only a brochure from the school and not a decision letter from the admissions committee.

That happened to me, I walked in the house after school and my mom had this huge envelop and she was jumping around and all happy thinking I had gotten in. It turns out it was just a very large viewbook and that kind of stuff.

tricky, tricky admissions officers trying to psych us out :-p

Eh, kinda similar. Might as well post here, as the people reading this thread are the only people who might appreciate it.

I was skimming my inbox and saw this " http://img484.imageshack.us/img484/5333/picture2gi5.png

..."

Had to do a double take!

(It's not Johns H...opkins)

probably would've gotten me to skip a beat, too. i don't blame you adam.

Haha I didn't skip a beat per se, I didn't really think anything beyond, "***"

But, retrospectively, some form of good admissions info would have been a great first night gift!

Also, since when is "double-yu tea ef" considered bad internet lingo... I thought it's appropriate and that's the point of it.

And, note to mods etc, please don't take this post as a means to bypass your filters, I respect your right to do so, and I'm fine with it, it's just it totally made me think, "***"

hahah nice quip.

apparently CC is anti-profane acronym, as if w-t-f is crude at all. but yeah, i'd say that acceptance would be a solid gift. better than a gift card or a book :-p
