Oh yeah, it's a "Chance Me" thread

What are my chances of getting accepted to Duke? I didn't get accepted to my ED school but Duke is my 2nd favorite, so I want to give it a go. My leadership positions are meh but I do plan on retaking my SATs and ACTs next month, so yeah...

I want to major in Computer Science so I would apply for Trinity, right?

No, I did not get all A's throughout high school. I screwed up in Magnet Algebra II and got a 78 and received B's in Magnet Biochemistry (82), AP Language (80), Honors Physics (88) and Magnet Analysis (81) . Aside from that, I received A's in everything else. Will the B's and especially the 78 affect my admission greatly?

I really want to attend Duke but I doubt I'll have any chance. Oh well, I still want to give it a go. Do I stand a chance?

EDIT: Forgot to mention this, but I want to send Duke my design of the front and back covers for this year's yearbook. Can I do that through the Optional Artistic Material Form? And if so, do I send it to them through mail in a CD or email the design to them? Also, I looked at Duke's site and I can't find the email to the admission's office. What's their email?

I'm retaking the ACTs on Feb. (I called the admissions office this morning and they told me they want all scores by March 1st so I'll be able to send the scores to them before then)

By question is, what are my chances if I get a 30+ on the ACT?

hey.. i am a black female applying for comp sci.. too
whats your current test scores?

You don't want to know...trust me on that. =/

do you have facebook?

i use to live in georgia and i think i had a friend go to that program a while back.. but um i think you have a great chance of getting in.. make sure they know all you have done and u should be fine..

Thank you. =]

I'll PM you my facebook name.

didn't you post in the emory thread too and you were rejected there? and your sats are like in the 500s? unless you get a really amazing act score soon, i really don't think you'll have a shot at duke

Duh. That's why I said I'm retaking the ACT. I want to know what my chances are if I get a 30+ on the ACT.

3.75 UW with a 22 ACT
What kind of 'magnet' school do you go to?
Apparently not a very good one and that will be the main concern of the admissions staff, and don't give me the "I don't test well excuse"

I don't test well excuse.

Look, I know my ACT is similar to athlete's foot but let's stray away from that. I want to retake it but if I don't get into Duke, it won't be the end of the world. My stats and ECs aren't even half as good as the rest of you. I just want to know if I do retake it, what are my chances if I get a 30+?

Understand? Now then. Chance me.

I actually think you may have a shot with a 30+ ACT.... Good Luck:)
