Ohh noo!

Wake lost to Virginia Tech, i would've never guessed. 78-71 final score, share your thoughts on the game...

The refs were atrocious. I know refs are usually a target of blame when teams lose (see: any time UNC loses :) but these guys were particularly bad. Phantom technicals, the ball clearly going out of bounds on VT on the baseline, ticky-tack calls, an elbow to Al-Farouq's forehead that required 4 stitches which wasn't a foul...I could go on. To be fair, they missed stuff for VT, too, but when you can make or break a game like that, you could do a bit of a better job. And VT had 14 FTs in the first half to our 0.

I thought they looked lackluster for much of the night; VT was playing good defense, I'll give them that, and rebounding well. It killed us when we were trying to come back and there was a stretch where VT hit something like 10 out of 11 FGs in a row...it was ridiculous.

They're young; I wasn't expecting them to go undefeated. A loss is something that they can learn from and I'm hoping they'll bounce back and beat Dook!

Yes, j2j -- Wake really needs to work on their free throws. But, the season is still young!

I think Wake actually needed a wake-up call like this. I don't really think they lost because the #1 got to their heads, but I think they will definately play harder against Duke next week.

The refs were bad both ways. Even if we lost by 1-2 we should be dropped from #1, because this was a team we should have beaten by 20-25 points AT HOME. We were lazy, over-confident, and made some terribly stupid fouls. Of course you lose when you let your opponent shoot 50% from the field. We just played atrociously. Hopefully we can knock off #1 Dook next week...
