Ohio State a possibility? Others also.

GPA: 73% (out of 100% obviously)

Reading 500
Writing 560

ACT: Taking October 27

The reason my grades are so low is because of deaths in the family/parent problems/previously having severe depression (diagnosed), which I wrote about in my essay.

List (in order of interest):

Ohio U.
Marshall
Ohio State
Bowling Green
Towson

Do I stand any chance at OSU? I know my SAT scores are near the bottom of the middle 50%, but would rising grades this semester and that essay help me out?

Bumpppppp.

Just to bump and updated, I was accepted into Marshall. Have yet to hear back from Ohio and haven't applied to the others yet. My new list:

Marshall (accepted)
Ohio U.
Bowling Green
James Madison
Old Dominion

I'm sorry about the problems you've experienced. Bowling Green and Ohio University will probably accept you if you can get at least a 22 on the ACT. Ohio State has become really difficult. My son goes to one of the best high schools in the state and kids who aren't B+ or better are no longer getting accepted. Take the ACT and SAT ASAP. You may have to take them more than once to get a good score.
