Did anyone hear last night?
I heard about the morril scholarship before Feb 1st and im going to be interviewed for the distinction scholarship. Saldy, if you haven’t been contacted by now it may be too late.
Thank you this means so much!!
@richardmiller What day did you hear??
January 25
@richardmiller same date as my sister. Seems to me that they haven’t released any decisions since then…
Exactly, it would be wayyy to late for a notificiation for the distinction weekend seeing as its in less than two weeks
@richardmiller last year there were notifications for distinction after the distinction weekend, but the interviews were done over skype
For in-state Pell eligible hopefuls, remember that the university also awards two full cost of attendance Land Grant scholarships per county. I was trying to get a timeline on when our county’s recipients were announced last year - late March possibly into early April as far as that person could recall, but wasn’t sure.
Ohio State covers full cost of tuition and mandatory fees for all Ohio Pell eligible families regardless of numbers or acceptance into the Morrill program. I’m not sure if you have to be Pell eligible for the Land Grant or just be one of the two applicants that have the most financial need of the applicants from your county. Meanwhile those who are not Pell eligible see a decrease in the amount of Merit Scholarship money awarded each year. The Provost Scholarship was $4,000 per year 4 years ago and now it is $2,000. The only substantial merit money being awarded is the Eminence Scholarship that goes to very few students.
It’s a little disappointing that the merit aid has been dropping (and stats required seem to go up yearly, too), but now they do have tuition guarantee for in state https://registrar.osu.edu/tuitionguarantee/index.html and the https://osumarion.osu.edu/academics/honors/marion-scholarship-info.html
PRESIDENT’S AFFORDABILITY GRANT*
