Okay, so I'm looking at Ohio State University's Neuroscience Undergraduate major. This is the link to the requirements - http://majors.osu.edu/pdfview.aspx?id=271. It says that I need 36 degree hours to complete the neuroscience major. What does that mean? I'm just really confused. Like for each of the years, there is a sample of the types of classes to take and the number of hours each year vary? And what are General Education classes? Sorry for all the questions, I just do not understand anything about credit hours, degree hours, whatever they are. Thank you for helping!

I graduated a decade ago… lol (feeling old), so my information might not be complete and up-to-date. Your best bet is to post this at the Ohio State board. There are quite a few current tOSU students, and should be able to answer you promptly & in details.

At any rate, GEC is what the College requires (Arts & Sciences in this case) that you are expected to complete during your Freshman & Sophomore years before taking your major courses (neuroscience in this case - 36 degree hours) in your Junior / Senior years.
