I’m an in state future osu student that got admitted on 11/17. I’ve got my acceptance letter and everything. Do you guys think I will recieve any scholarships from the institution?

No. They give nonresident tuition waivers for students outside of OH, but your reward is the privilege of being a buckeye. Yay. Those stats would probably get you a scholarship at Ohio University though.

tOSU is shifting resources to need based aid. If you are Pell Grant eligible you can expect a financial aid package that will cover full tuition. http://radio.wosu.org/post/ohio-state-become-first-ohio-school-pay-full-tuition-pell-grant-recipients#stream/0

You meet the minimum stated criteria for the Provost scholarship for ACT and SAT. Although not a guarantee it certainly means you will be considered. What is your class rank?

@buck3y3 Last year my S was accepted to school of engineering with a 3.95 and 31 ACT/ 32 superscore. He was offered $1500/yr; $6000 total. This year, son #2 was accepted to OSU to Fisher w/ 4.25 and 30 ACT. Admissions said they are in the process of sending out merit & honors info. OSU yearly cost is quite reasonable even without merit. If you receive some, consider it a bonus!

I’m a little confused about what they do for HS’s that do not rank. Does anyone know how that works? My son has a 93 GPA and a 32 on his ACT but no class rank.

@H0llyw00d not having a rank will not impact someone’s ability to receive merit. Both of my children received merit and our high school doesn’t rank. I can also say that my son received the highest possible award (Maximus). And given all of the data OSU had about him and our high school there is absolutely no way OSU could have assumed that his rank was as high as they indicate is needed for Maximus.

Received an email (ironically) last night from OSU that the entire financial aid packages will be posted sometime by late March… so Kudos to OSU for letting us know what they are hoping to do. Maybe next year they will update the earlier communication accordingly.

We got the same email. We also have regular mail envelope from OSU enrollment services that arrived today. Hopeful that has some kind of merit announcement. D isn’t home to open it yet.
