Hello everyone. I am currently a Freshman at Wright State University (graduated high school 2017) looking to transfer into Ohio State University for my Sophomore year because the college life here is absolutely scarce. I feel lonely all the time and i want to expand my social bubble and meet people. I currently cannot enter during Fall Semester 2018 because of Scholarship issues but I will be able to enter Spring 2019.Now that you know the backstory i really only have one question, well, one loaded question. What will the College experience be for me as a Spring 2019/Mid-year transfer? Will it be hard for me to join clubs or meet people? Could i still join a fraternity? Are there still fun things and parties that happen in the spring opposed to the usual fall football festives ? And NO! I don’t want to come here just to party they have my major here also (BA CIS). I keep asking this question because i want multiple thorough answers
Personally, I think you would be better off transferring in the fall of your Junior year. It is more difficult to find housing in the spring since most everything is full. You can attend the involvement fair in the beginning of the school year. The frats (the few left that aren’t suspended) recruit in the spring as well so you can settle in first. Other frats are “underground”. OSU is a large school; you will need to put yourself out there. See what clubs are available in your college (major). Also, keep up your grades because transfers to OSU main campus are no longer a given; I know someone who was declined and is now at OU- another good option. He pledged a frat there as well and got in one. Good luck…
i think you could still have a good time since OSU is so big, there’s a lot of people to meet and they’ll probably be welcoming to new people because of its size
