Ohio State VS University of Arizona

I have already been accepted into both schools for their respective neuroscience programs. I am from Arizona, but I am very passionate about Ohio State since it has been my dream school forever. I am from Arizona and have recieved $7,000 a year from there. Ohio State is still where I'd choose to go, but I need opinions. Feedback?

What are the costs (after grants/scholarships)? If the final costs are similar, go where your heart takes you. But if the Ohio State U. is significantly more expensive with regards to loans, then I would stay in-state.

And if you are truly passionate, you would know it is always THE Ohio State University ;)

I agree to go with whichever is cheapest. These are pretty comparable state schools. Weather is nicer in AZ.

Better football in Ohio.

If cost is not a factor, go to OSU to have a different experience. Different weather, different culture, different people.

If you were my child, that would be the question. Do you want to experience a new place?

Does the OP play football? I must have missed that.

OP doesn’t have to play to appreciate the Buckeyes.

I believe these two schools go back and forth in the “largest single campus” list.

Why is OSU your dream school forever? I live in Ohio and it’s a fine institution but I wonder why a kid from Arizona loves it so?

I’d go with UA. OOS cost for OSU isn’t justifiable.

What are your parents saying about paying the bills?

what is your major?

BTW ASU is the larger school not U of A.

I think OSU is the superior school by a good margin. And it has a brighter future.

Thanks Tempemom, I confuse them and I have actually been to Tempe :)

And it has a brighter future.

For what?

The student is interested in neuroscience. Is he premed? If so, then tOSU wont’ give him a “brighter future.”

What careers would have a “brighter future” coming from tOSU? tOSU is surely a very fine school, but there are a whole bunch of majors and career goals that aren’t dependent upon tOSU for a bright future.

OHMom no problemo! (we’re multilingual here!)

OSU has a brighter future because of better state funding and effective fundraising–BY FAR. Top American Research U’s has OSU ranked in the Top group with UCB, UCLA, UW, UM, UNC and UIUC. The endowment is well over $2 Billion and they are raising another $2.5 Billion now. Meanwhile AZ flounders.
