Ok im pretty set on one of these two schools (mainly ohio univ) and i was just wondering if any graduates or parents of graduates can give me some info... i would like info about how good your job choices were after graduation (include major) and other experiences at or with the university that you feel need mentioning

OU hands down. Campus is stunning. Their job stats @ OU are 94% are employed within 6 months of graduation which is awesome.

Two very different places, and at each you can get a good education, and at each you'll have to keep yourself focused on educaton and away from too much fun. I have family members who have graduated from OU and UD.

If you've visited both, and like both, I'd say go to the one that makes you a better financial offer.

b.... u.... m.... p

Do you like a smaller/urban school or a larger/rural school? Is highway/airport access important to you? Do you want a Catholic school or a state school? What about the strength of your proposed major at both schools? Besides the $, these might be factors that help you decide. I know a bunch of UD grads--doctors, accountants, engineers, etc. My impression is that the faculty/staff are very helpful there--you might get more personal attention since it is a smaller school. I'm sure you can get an excellent education at either one, and find a good job if you do well. Just think about which atmosphere you prefer.

yea ive actually been to both schools i dont really care about if its urban or rural and you can get great attention at both schools... my major isnt completely decided but i know it will be one of the sciences and both schools are decent.... hence the problem i love both schools .. right now im leading towards ohio u simply b/c i love athens but i just wanted to hear some personal experiences (kinda hard to get advice on non-ivy schools on cc)

If you love Athens, go to OU. When my daughter was a freshman there, she had a dorm room in Biddle Hall, which was designated as one of the "academic emphasis" dorms. She liked that. . . it wasn't particularly quiet, but she was with other students who were fairly serious about their studies. Sophomore year she lived in Bromley Hall, a dorm that used to be a hotel till OU bought and converted it to dorms. It's a kind of odd dorm, and she wouldn't recommend it.

As far as sciences. . . . one of her roommates was bio major, and is now a grad student in public health at OSU. Another friend is an Elec. Engineering grad, who's starting grad school at OU in December.

yea... i stayed in bromley over the summer it was rather weird but i loved the heated indoor pool and its pretty close to everything... thanks for the help

Thanks very much. It's interesting to hear about other schools.

haha nice link... i already told him im not running now... i got admitted to purdue so i figured that there is no chance ohio will reject me.
