I found it through the main page:

Yeah, I saw that, but it's being weird for me, like posts aren't showing up.

appears to take a while, i guess?

They review all the posts made and decide which one's they want to appear. Basically, only the general questions that everyone has will be posted, and nothing that could be potentially negative about the university.

Makes sense - I suppose they wouldn't want someone on there cussing up the place.

Is the message board up and running?

The link provided here says it's coming in Sept, but if you google it you get this link which appears to be active:

The odd thing is that the posts are in no particular order (not even by date) that I could discern.

IDK about that message board, seems a l8ittle fake and too filtered ( of course it is run by the university). Is there anyone here who can answer questions about Ou honestly?? For example, how much of a party is it really? And what's the greek life like? Any help would be great. Thanks so much

It ranks #2 in the Princeton Review rankings for "Their students (almost) never study" and "Best Party Schools" so yes I would say it's a big party school that isn't too hard.

I'm a student at OU and I hate, hate, HATE those ratings. Yes, some people do party five nights a week and never attend class, but that happens at all schools. There are tons of people (myself included) who never skip class, study hard every school night, and are involved in tons of activities. Every school is a party school if you want it to be, and I guarantee that the people that choose to live that way are in the minority.

OU has a ton to offer and has some really rigorous programs. The journalism program in particular is amazing and has tons of resourses available to its students. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice college experience and some really good academics. I feel like I have definitely gotten an excellent education thus far.

To mkm89, people usually party on the weekends, if for no other reason than we are in the middle of nowhere. However, there are also tons of acitivities sponsored both by the school and by private groups that are available at those times that don't involve drinking. Greek life isn't a huge part of campus, but you definitely notice that they're around. There are some really nice organizations that are serious about helping the community, and some others that are there only to have fun, kind of like you would see at any large public university.

Any more questions, please let me know!

yep, i'm an ohio student also and would be glad to answer any other questions that anyone has

also... to weenie--- i believe the message board posts are in order by who made the last reply in each thread

I am still trying to figure out the message board -- so on the front page it lists the "last reply date" of, say "Ask an Admissions Rep" as 8/13/06.
http://messageboard.chatuniversity.com/ohioU/

But, when you click on that thread there is no message with that date:
http://messageboard.chatuniversity.com/ohioU/default.asp?action=10&fid=914

7/20/06 seems to be the most current reply. What gives?

Anyone want to add to general info about OU???

I posted a question on the message board asking about the biosciences majors, internship opportunities and whether there's a hospital near the school for volunteering opportunities. The school rates really high in reviews like the College ******* so I've been interested in it, but most of the raves have to do with the journalism program.

The posting hasn't appeared, so I'm wondering whether biosciences isn't something to brag about at OU. What do you think? Thanks!

I think the message board just doesn't work. They should shut it down!

I would just like to point out that the OU Message Board is working now.
