Ohio University Templeton Scholarship (Diversity)

Just an FYI for any high academic diversity candidate, (minimum ACT of 28) looking for various scholarship opportunities, consider Ohio University’s Templeton Scholarship. The program is NOT need based but is merit based. There scholarship requires application to the school at which point if you meet the criteria, you will be provided information on how to apply. The scholarship requires an application, essay, two letters of recommendation and an interview. The scholarship is for four years, and includes full tuition, room and board and other academic support. Multiple scholarships are given per year.

My daughter just finished her interview today.

Good luck to all the candidates and future candidates!

https://www.ohio.edu/omsar/templeton/ is the web site for the scholarship.

The tuition, room, and board scholarship amount includes in-state tuition only. Out-of-state students, if the scholarship is offered to them, would still pay the $9,464 additional out-of-state tuition.

Remaining amounts for 2016-2017 based on https://www.ohio.edu/financialaid/cost/ would be $3,736 ($0 direct costs) for in-state, $13,200 ($9,464 direct costs) for out-of-state.

Native American students with tribal documentation may be interested in the Rankin scholarship, which also covers the additional out-of-state tuition: https://www.ohio.edu/omsar/rankin.cfm

Students with FAFSA EFC < $8,000 and living in Appalachian or urban parts of Ohio may be interested in these scholarships:

A Templeton Scholar would be eligible for a Trustees scholarship a Signature scholarship that is applied to the OOS premium. It would be from $1000-$7000. My guess is that anyone who is chosen to receive the Templeton scholarship would be likely to receive the higher amount.
