Ohio University vs West Virginia University

Out of OU and WVU, which would be best for Computer Engineering or Computer Science?

Also, which has the best/most social town/city with the most activities to do?
Which has a better reputation too?

Thanks.

Are you able to receive in-state tuition at both (not impossible if your parents are divorced)?

It would be out of state tuition for both.

Also, I am a Freshman in college right now looking to transfer. I messed up my first semester so my overall GPA will be 2.4-2.7 (depending).

Gafel, not sure about which is better for your majors, but Ohio has a better overall reputation. I have been to both and OU has a small college town feel. The school is directly across the street from the town. There are a number of restaurants, bookstores, coffee shops, etc. They also have a fairly big music scene and there are some small clubs in the town. Not far from the town there is a main road with some chains (restaurants stores, CVS, hotels, etc). The area is pretty rural around the town. The campus is very pretty and they have a new student union. Some of the buildings are historic. WVU is located in Morgantown and it is set on a hill overlooking a river. The campus is split by a main road with some buildings on one side and the union, dorms, and more buildings on the other. They have two other campuses and one has the football stadium and a very nice new rec center and their medical campus . The other campus has a nice new dorm and a few other buildings. Buses and the PRT take you to the other campuses if need be. There is a main street near the campus where the kids hang out, but I didn't really get to see it that well (probably the usual shops, restaurants, clubs, etc). Both schools will give you a very good social atmosphere. Its just what you prefer.

Thanks.

Both schools sound very nice.

I actually looked up the ranking of engineering schools in some article. WVU and OU were rated the exact same. I guess I'll have just have to pay each one a visit.

The nice thing about WVU is it's only a little more than an hour away from home. OU's about 4-5 hours.

Forgot to add that the oos tuition/fees were pretty good at WVU compared to some of the other schools we saw. Not sure about Ohio. Also, the football and basketball games should be fun. Best of luck!
